Ball Cactus (仙人球; pinyin: Xiānrénqiú), also referred to as simply Cactus (仙人掌; pinyin: Xiānrénzhǎng)^[?], is a Physical Ranged plant in Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 3, introduced in the third beta of the game. It is given to the player for unlocking a chest after Campground, Level 9.

Ball Cactus shoots regular spikes within the lane ahead of him, damaging the first zombie ahead of him with its fire rate being slightly slower and its damage being slightly higher than Peashooter.

He can additionally be fused with Blover to turn into Whirlwind Ball Cactus, or be fused with E.M.Peach to turn into Electric Ball Cactus.

Origins

Ball Cactus is based off echinopsis oxygona, also referred to as "ball cactus", a type of cactus native to certain regions of South America.

• His almanac entry confirms him initially being Cactus prior to his overeating period.
  • Despite this, masculine pronouns are used in his almanac entry, rather than the feminine pronouns Cactus is usually referred to with.
• Ball Cactus used to have different stats in beta versions. Specifically, he had a 5 second recharge and dealt 60 damage per shot.
• Ball Cactus used to be unlocked in Campground, Level 3 in beta versions of the game.
