Bubble Cholla (泡泡姬珊瑚; pinyin: Pào​pao Jī Shān​hú) is a manually controlled plant introduced in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2. It is able to attack zombies by blowing bubbles at them.

Bubble Cholla is able to be toggled between three different attacks that result in different sized bubbles:

• Small bubbles: Bubble Cholla is able to quickly fire a massive amount of small, weak bubbles ahead that spread out as they travel rightwards.
• Medium bubble: Bubble Cholla is able to fire a medium sized bubble at an average pace. This bubble deals damage to all zombies in a single tile as well as being able to knock them back. This is the default attack mode.
• Big bubble: Bubble Cholla is able to slowly fire a large, slowly traveling bubble that is able to damage zombies in a 3x3 area.

Origins

Bubble Cholla is visually based on a coral, a collective of marine invertebrate that share a single rooted skeleton, but named after the Christmas cholla (cylindropuntia leptocaulis). The reason for this is because the Chinese name for the Christmas cholla, "姬珊瑚", contains the Chinese word for coral, "珊瑚".

Upgrades

Plant Food effect

When fed Plant Food, Bubble Cholla will blow a giant bubble in its tile, which will then explode and fire a large volley of bubbles of various different sizes.

Costumed

If Bubble Cholla is wearing its costume, the giant bubble blown will be in the shape of one of three plants (Sunflower, Ice-shroom, or Mangosteen) and more bubbles will be fired in the volley.

	Fighting Power 战斗能力	Bubble Cholla gains another 50% more attack power and health (250% of initial).
	Acid Bubbles 酸液泡泡	Bubbles fired have a 50% chance of being acid bubbles. Acid bubbles will do more damage to armor, after large and medium bubbles explode they will leave acid on the ground to continuously damage zombies. 发射的泡泡50%的概率为酸液泡泡。酸液泡泡对防具伤害增加，中泡泡和大泡泡爆炸后还会在地上留下酸液地表持续对僵尸造成伤害。

Trivia

• Switching between attack modes enough times quickly will cause Bubble Cholla to be tired for a short amount of time, unable to switch attack modes further or attack.
• The Chinese name is a pun, which can be interpreted as either "Bubble Princess"(泡泡姬) "Coral"(珊瑚), or "Bubble"(泡泡) "Opuntia leptocaulis"(姬珊瑚).
