Cattail (猫尾草; pinyin: Māo wěi cǎo) is a Physical Ranged plant in Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 3, introduced in the 1.13.2 version of the game on October 27th, 2025. It could only be obtained through Halloween Night of Wonders roulette.

Cattail is an aquatic plant that costs 275 sun and shoots spikes at zombies that hone in on the closest target to the home and can hit flying zombies and ignore slopes of Urban District. Cattail can fuse with the E.M.Peach to evolve into Electric Cattail.

Cattail fires needles that can track enemies.

Cattail always believed its tail was a separate entity — after all, when it chased zombies across the sky with its needle-like spikes, that tail, standing straight up like a rocket launcher, clearly had a mind of its own.

Strategies

Cattail is an extremely versatile plant that can deal with early waves of zombies due to its homing attack, can kill flying zombies and can be used on Urban District and in levels with water. It can be used as a 1-2 of on the lawn to deal with flying threats, or you can spam this plant if level doesn't have swarm zombies, like Zom-Blob, as it can struggle dealing with large groups of zombies.

It is highly recommended to bring E.M.Peach as Electric Cattail deals almost twice as much damage, can paralyze zombies and shoots spike missiles all for a measly 50 sun investment.

Trivia

• In versions 1.13.0-1.14.3 Cattail was the only plant that couldn't be obtained through gacha.
• Cattail and its evolution got redesigned in 1.15.1 following the player's feedback.
