Strategies
With
Although Cosmic Imp seems to be useful with his ability and Deadly trait, he has several issues that completely nullify what little effectiveness he would practically have. His most noteworthy attribute is his ability to conjure an Imp with said trait that's permanently attached. This is indeed useful as most Imps don't have enough strength and rely on this trait to make good trades against strong plants, but Toxic Waste Imp already does the job much more effectively, as it's cheaper and as long as it is present, all Imps have said trait. The conjure ability can also be extremely inconsistent, as it can give things from Space Cowboy (a phenomenal zombie with strikethrough, a good amount of strength and a very powerful ability) to Imps that already have the trait like Blowgun Imp and even Triplication/Hail-A-Copter, which are tricks that do no damage. Since he only has one strength, his attack will also be nullified by any plant with the Armored trait, and his low stats mean he isn't worth boosting, which indirectly allows your opponent to benefit from him charging their block meter with his weak attacks. Overall, there is no point in running Cosmic Imp. For Imp decks, which focus on swarming the field, there are much cheaper cards for the task, and if you simply want a Deadly zombie, Smelly Zombie does the job, having the same cost but with higher strength and health, as well as the useful Gravestone trait.
Against
Cosmic Imp isn't all that common because of how inconsistent he is, and even when he does appear, he is unlikely to be of any threat compared to any Imp he would conjure due to his low stats, and when he does he'll likely be used to front a strong plant to destroy it. Tricks like Banana Bomb or stat-reducing cards like Kernel-Pult are enough deal with him if they are at hand, although do beware of whatever Imp he may conjure.

Trivia
- Just like Medic, he lacks legs. This can be seen when he activates his ability.
- For some unknown reason, Cosmic Imp's pointing hand texture is found in Stupid Cupid's textures. While it isn't directly on the sprite sheet, it does appear that the file holds multiple sheets of Stupid Cupid's sprites.
- He has the lowest base strength out of all Deadly zombies, at 1.
- He's also the only Deadly with less than two base strength. As such, he can't destroy Armored plants without help from boosting tricks.
