Electric Peel is a premium plant added in the 11.2.1 update of Plants vs. Zombies 2. Electric Peel attacks zombies by unleashing a peel that travels four tiles ahead of it and back, damaging zombies along the way.

Electric Peel is also able to be planted in water, which will increase the amount of damage its peels do. Peels traveling in water will also create electric tiles that continuously damage zombies that step in them.

Origins

Electric Peel is based on the banana, a fruit produced by several kinds of large herbaceous flowering plants in the genus Musa. More specifically, Electric Peel is based on a "dessert banana", most specifically a "Cavendish Banana", due to the elongated crescent shape and light yellow insides. His name is also a pun on "Banana Peel" and "Electric eel", a type of Neotropical knifefish in the order Gymnotiformes.

Electrified Condition: Electrified Zombies take damage over time as long as they occupy the tiles that have been Electrified. Electric Peel is calm and composed, it will not let anyone come near its Peel, for good reasons. Turns out it is protecting those around it from the peel. When asked, Electric Peel said, "Don't touch my Peel, you won't like what happens next!", in a cautious tone, while emitting a buzzing electric sound.

Plant Food effect

When fed Plant Food, Electric Peel will unleash a giant "Super Peel" that will travel down the entire lane and deal heavy damage to all zombies in it.

Fila-mint effect

When boosted by Fila-mint, Electric Peel will deal 2x damage with both its land attack and water attack, its attack cooldown is reduced to 1-1.25 seconds (level 1-5) or 0.75-1 seconds (level 6-10), it deals an additional 100/150/200/250/300/350/400/450/500/550 damage to zombies it cannot instantly kill using Plant Food, its water electrified grid items duration is adjusted to 1/1.5/2/2.5/3/3.5/4/4.5/5/5.5 seconds, and grid item damage is increased by 10.

	Lightning Eel 闪电鳗	When attacking, Electric Peel has a 20% chance to throw a lightning eel which moves forwards, binding the first bindable zombie it encounters. It will then electrocute every 3 seconds, dealing damage within the tile, dealing Paralyze I to the zombie bound for 1.5 seconds, and splash damage that is half of the original damage to zombies in a 3*3 area. The electric eel can last for at most 10 seconds, dealing damage that is 150% of the original damage to the zombie it binds to or non-bindable zombies it passed through. 电鳗香蕉攻击时有20%的概率丢出闪电鳗向前移动，捆绑在移动路径上第一只可捆绑的僵尸身上，每3秒发动电击，对单格范围造成伤害，麻痹Ⅰ捆绑的僵尸1.5秒，并对3*3范围内的僵尸造成50%攻击力的扩散伤害。闪电鳗最多存在10秒，对首个捆绑的僵尸和路径上撞到的不可捆绑的僵尸造成150%攻击力的伤害

Strategy

Electric Peel can be seen as an upgrade of Bloomerang when placed on the water of many Big Wave Beach levels, or on puddles in certain Thymed Events, Arena tournaments, Penny's Pursuit levels or those created by a defeated/shoveled SeaFlora. The fact that his peels can damage a zombie twice and do extra damage via electric tiles if they encounter water means that it can do incredible amounts of damage against hordes as well as outdamaging the latter even when planted on land.

It does have downsides when being compared to it's fungal counterpart, however. The fact that it cannot be planted on Lily Pads means that it cannot benefit protection from Pumpkin and Explode-o-Vine if one were to use these plants in Big wave Beach. Therefore, it will need another Wall plant to be in the front in order to guarantee its survival. The peel also takes three times as long to recharge, so it's not as spammable in fast-paced levels. Although the use of Imitater can remedy this to an extent. Lastly, its Plant Food effect does less damage but can instantly kill most normal-sized zombies like Brickhead Zombies.

Trivia

• Like Banana Launcher, it cannot be planted on minecarts, if the player tries to plant it on a minecart, the game will say "Electric Peels are too slippery for mine carts."

Specific to the Chinese version (China only)

• Animation-wise, Electric Peel has several differences between the international and Chinese version:
  • Its electric bolts in idle animation have outline cyan coloring in addition of electric tiles having white ripple as opposed to blue in water.
  • Instead of reusing E.M.Peach's explosion when hitting a zombie, it has its own splash effect when hitting a zombie.
  • Its Plant Food projectile's appearance is more detailed compared to international version, resembling to an eel more than international's Plant Food projectile.
