Epic Quest: Gloom Vine!
Epic Quest: Gloom Vine! is an Epic Quest that features 5 levels for Gloom Vine. It lasted from February 15, 2021 - March 29, 2021. The reward is 50 Gloom Vine seed packets.
Step 1
Clearing out the Tombstones should be the fist step in playing this level since the Tombstone covers up all of the tiles beside the pre-planted Dusk Lobber, however it can also damage tombstones in its lane when not powered, so plant Gloom Vine on top of them in order to damage in its lane and the adjacent lanes, not only that but Gloom Vine can also destroy the surrounding Tombstones.
After all the tombstones are cleared (or at least 1 Tombstone is cleared in each lane), start planting Shadow Peashooter and then Gloom Vine on top of them to have stalling and strikethrough power which is helpful to easily destroy Camel Zombies. Jester Zombie can be an issue because they can deflect Dusk Lobber projectiles, however Shadow Peashooter stalling effect can help increase their time to deflect, making it longer to deflect, while Dusk Lobber splash damage can easily destroy Jester Zombie.
Garlic can also help by moving zombies into areas where Gloom Vine can attack longer on the zombies, it is best to plant it on column 2 and 4, be sure to replace it when almost eaten. Buckethead Zombies will easily be defeated by splash damage of Dusk Lobber, and Tomb Raiser Zombie will not have time to spawn Tombstones because of how splash damage can easily destroy them and the stalling of Shadow Peashooter makes it longer to spawn Tombstones.
When the final wave happens, Gargantuars will easily be defeated with splash damage, keep in mind that the thrown Imps can be easily defeated by nearby Gloom Vine. Grimrose should be used to drag the closest zombie to the ground, and it is best to be planted on Gloom Vine so that it can drag three times.
Waves

Step 2
Power Tiles are your main advantage in winning this level, try only putting them in row 2,3,and 4 since that is where most zombies come in, plant Snow Pea on top of them because it slows them down as well as deal a good amount of damage. Keep in mind that Nightshade will not be very effective until Gloom Vine is planted, so always plant Nightshade on Gloom Vine, you can put some Power Tiles on Nightshade inside Gloom Vine if you want to deal heavy damage to a certain zombie.
Nightshade are helpful in the plankless rows because they can easily destroy Bug Zombies and his variants, and once the bug is dead the zombie will drop into the water and be instantly killed, Nightshade are reliable against Seagull Zombie, it is not recommended to put Nightshade with Gloom Vine close to where the plank meets the ship because that is where Relic Hunter Zombie will land and he will eat the vine making Nightshade useless, try putting them in columns 1,2, or 3. Blastronaut Zombie can easily rush over our plants, so use Snow Pea to slow them down.
Shield Zombie can be a problem because they can create Force field that can block Snow Pea and Night Shade projectiles, try using E.M.Peach to disable to force field, same applies to Disco-tron 3000 which can summon Disco Jetpack Zombie which can easily overwhelm your plants, only disable, they can't summon zombies.
Try your best to clear out the lane because you have to damage Imp Cannons or else they will shower your lawn with Imps, Snow Pea chilling effect can help make Imp Cannon time until it explodes longer. Use Plant Food only on plants that are on Power Tiles so that multiple other plants can also get the Plant Food effect.

Step 3
Since you can't have any sun-producing plants, you have to rely on sun on Moonflower as well as from the sky, try having shadow plants since they can boost Moonflower and produce more sun, you can plant Gloom Vine on top of them to produce more sun.
Slider tiles also helps out since it can move zombies out of the Moonflowers' lane so that they can't be eaten, beside from the sun production should be a little issue. Try having stalling plants such as: Tall-nut to protect your plants from Imps being thrown by Bull Rider Imp, however Zcorpion Zombie can easily crush plants with vases, so plant Spikeweeds or Spikerock for Zcorpion Zombie to constantly launch vases until self-destruction and at the same time not be destroyed by them, keep in mind though Excavator Zombie can dig up Spikeweed and through it out of Zcorpions Zombie range, which can cause Zcorpion Zombie to launch at non-defensive plants, so use plants lobber plants or piercing plants to damage Excavator Zombie, and plus Zcorpion Zombie will only appear once so its not much of a problem, Jester Zombie can easily mess up your defense if you have Straight-shooting plants or projectiles plants, so try to limit on how much projectile plants and use plants such as: Strikethrough, Snapdragon, or melee plants.
Having Instant-kill plants such as: Primal Potato Mine or Cherry Bomb to easily wipe out crowds including tough zombies such as: Centurion Zombie, Zcorpion Zombie, and Gargantuars, use Gloom VIne as a way to damage the summoned Imp, not to mention but Gloom Vine is also helpful against Jester Zombie and Excavator Zombie since these zombies are not immune or have any reaction against him, use Plant Food on Moonflower if your low on sun.

Step 4
Pokra is very reliable in this level since she can easily wipe out any zombies in her range, easily destroying Buckethead Peasants, Knight Zombies, and Deep Sea Gargantuars, just keep in mind they are close to where zombies are spawned, just to be sure they are not eaten plant Gloom Vine on top of them to protect and damage zombies a bit. Dartichoke is also helpful since Prospector Zombie, Wizard Zombie, and Octo Zombie are all prioritized by Dartichoke, easily defeating them and even if Dartichoke is recharging, Pokra can slow them down and easily defeat any octopus wrapped onto zombies.
Since Prospector can jump to the other side of lawn, plant Gloom Vine in columns 1 and 2 since they can attack behind and damage these zombies, Conceal-mint can also help by buffing Gloom Vine which makes him much powerful in defeating zombies quick and fast. Magnet-shroom can be used in removing Buckets and Knight helms from that, Pokra can easily destroy Zombie King from preventing zombies to have knight helms, when the Gargantuar comes, you can easily finish him of with Pokra while the summoned Imp can be destroyed by other plants. Keep in mind the Tombstone's while spawn and will spawn Wizard Zombie and Octo Zombie, try you best in destroying the Tombstone's fast. Use Plant Food on Dartichoke to destroy some high-threat zombies.

Step 5
Pianist Zombie serve as the biggest problem in this this level because they can cause cowboy variants to switch lanes and eat the endangered Snapdragon although Cowboy Zombie and Conehead Cowboy can be defeated, Buckethead Cowboy and Cart-Head Zombies high health can help them take a while to defeat and by then the endangered Snapdragons will be defeated, same applies to Healer Zombie which can kill the Snapdragon if near him when defeated because his caduceus can destroy a plant that is on the tile he is going to land on.
Headbutter Lettuce can help because his powerful attack and strong health can easily destroy zombies in no time and stall them with butter which prevents Cowboy Zombie variants from switching lanes and takes longer time for Tombstones can be spawned by Tomb Raiser Zombie, they can also defeat Poncho Zombie and Jurassic Fossilhead. Mainly Headbutter Lettuce is your best attacking plant, Fume-shroom is helpful in attacking Swashbuckler Zombie and Bug Bot Imps summoned from ambushes since they will arrive in the middle of the lawn, since Headbutter is mostly attacking in the front of the lawn, Fume-shroom can help damage these zombies.
Gloom Vine can also serve as a protection for Snapdragon if Zombies come close to the Snapdragon, since its level 10 it has stronger health and can defeat weak zombies, which makes it also reliable against Swashbuckler Zombies and Bug Bot Imps since they don't have lots of health and can easily be defeated.
Remember to put Dusk Lobber on top of Gloom Vine to lob in its lane and in adjacent lanes, they are really helpful in group-damaging zombies which can easily defeat zombies. Sweet Potato is in fact the most important plant since he can attract zombies to other lanes, which means that if you only plant them in lane 2 and 4, zombies from lanes that has the endangered Snapdragons will be lead into either 2 of these lanes, which means less chances of Snapdragon be eaten, you can use Headbutter Lettuce to attack all the zombies attracted to it and butter them, so that they don't eat the Sweet Potato (make sure you keep refilling so that they are not eaten).
However Pianist Zombie can crush Sweet Potato, so try to destroy them fast, when the final wave comes, attract the two Gargantuars to either lane 2 or 4, because they can easily destroy the Snapdragon, and once they are attracted, use Headbutter Lettuce to reduce their health fast, Dusk Lobber also helps destroy them fast. Use Plant Food on Headbutter Lettuce to stall lots of zombies and destroy zombies close to him, Dusk Lobber to deal intense splash damage, or Snapdragon if zombies are close to him, and you want to destroy them fast.
