Frost Rambutan (寒霜白毛丹; pinyin: Hán Shuāng Bái Máo Dān) is a plant in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 introduced in the 3.5.6 update alongside Electric Heartbreak.

Frost Rambutan attacks by lobbing a small snowball to the zombie ahead of him in his lane, dealing 100 damage to the target and 50 splash damage in a 3x3 area. The snowballs have a 5% chance of freezing a zombie in their 3x3 area in an ice block similar to that of Ice Bloom's.

After lobbing 7 snowballs, he will roll down his lane and bounce back to his place after hitting the first zombie during the roll down, which will knockback the zombie. He can also do that whenever there is a zombie trapped in an ice block ahead of him.

Origins

As his name entails, Frost Rambutan is based on the rambutan, a fruit not to be confused with lychee.

Upgrades

Plant Food effect

When given Plant Food, Frost Rambutan will inflate into a round spiky ball, after which he will roll down and change directions by 45 degrees every time a zombie is hit, acting similarly to a Wall-nut in Wall-nut Bowling.

Costumed

If Frost Rambutan is wearing his costume, he will leave a temporary icy tile behind similar to that of Icy Currant's upon killing a zombie during the plant food ability. The said icy tile will only chill and slow down zombies that step on it.
