Goopy Gully

From Plants vs. Zombies Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Goopy Gully is a Turf Takeover map in Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. The map is similar to Mount Steep. In this map the plants are on the offense and the zombies are on the defense. The plants must capture different areas where they must pump cheese along a pipeline. The cheese leads to a cannon that can destroy Dr. Zomboss' drill. The zombies must try and stop the plants from doing so.

Description

Dr. Zomboss wants to plant a flag in Rocky Flats and is starting by drilling a HUGE HOLE in the middle of it! If he takes over, he'll rewrite the town's history (with more 'z's)! The plants must stop him from making history history!

Areas

  • Pumping Station
  • Mines
  • Old Fort
  • Drill

Pump Station

The plants must start pumping the cheese at the pumping station.

Plants

The capture point is relatively close to the Plants' spawn point, so getting to the capture point should not be very hard. However, the capture point is a bit enclosed within a building, so you gotta run into the objective to get into the fight. There's also other places you can shoot from far away, allowing for an easier capture.

Zombies

Probably the hardest capture point to defend, you should be sure to watch all sides of the objective. On the left of your spawn there's a little gap where plants can potentially shoot from far away. It's a good idea to take that area for yourself so the Plants can't get to it. It's also a bright idea to get on top of the building that the objective is in, and shoot from above. You just generally want to try and keep any vantage point that the plants could potentially get to.

Mines

The plants must continue pumping the cheese at the mines.

Plants

Compared to the previous objective, this one is much more in the open, but don't expect to capture it that easily! There's a couple of places where Zombies can snipe from high ground. While they have high ground, Plants also have high ground they can come from too! To the left of the Plants is a place where they can easily shoot Zombies guarding the objective.

Zombies

There's some places where you can shoot from to stop the plants from guarding the objective. One on the left side and one in the middle of spawn. You can also take the little fort-like area on the right before the plants can and stop them.

Old Fort

The plants must pump the cheese at the final pumping station in the old fort.

Plants

Zombies

Drill

The plants must fire cheese at the drill by capturing the cannons, then shoot at the drill's core to destroy it.

End Victory

Plant Victory

If the plants successfully destroy the drill's weak spot, then it will begin to detonate due to the drill's integrity compromised by the plants' assault. Hanging on by nothing more than a red wire, the drill goes down further into the ground. The red wire then snaps, causing the drill's top to fly onto the sky and crashing down to the ground away from base, destroying it and preventing Zomboss's claim on Earth.

Zombie Victory

If the zombies successfully defended the drill, then the drill will finish its preparation process and falls down into the hole. Then, it will create a series of poles that keep expanding its length further and further into the sky until it has reached vast space. It will then create a tiny banner with the official "Z" insignia, legitimizing Dr. Zomboss's rule on Earth and, as Crazy Dave would say, prevent any aliens from visiting.

Trivia

  • The idea of being destroying the drill after firing the cannons to expose its core is similar to Zombopolis, in which the plant team must destroy the battery to be able to destroy the fuses on the Zombot.
    • The music played during the objective is also reused from Zombopolis.
  • The drill seen in the final objective is similar to the one seen underground in the middle of the Steep Mines, with some changes to the appearance of the core and the fact that it doesn't have a rotating platform.
  • Upon Plants victory, three wooden planks will suddenly appear on the destroyed drill. These planks have no collision and are never seen outside of the cutscene. It is unknown what they are for, although they may be for walking to the drill, even though there is no collision.
  • On the loading screen for Goopy Gully, an All-Star can be visibly seen floating above the drill. Why it's there is unknown.
