Guard-shroom (Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2)

Guard-shroom (守卫菇; pinyin: Shǒuwèi Gū) is a mushroom plant in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 introduced in the v3.6.7 update alongside the Parallel Universe No. 41 Secret Realm. It is the third plant to be part of the Abyss Series.

Guard-shroom will be spawning miniature versions of itself, known as Mini-shrooms, with a maximum amount of 8 Mini-shrooms, each adjacent to Guard-shroom on a different tile regardless of whether the tile is occupied by a plant or not, as they can exist on top of them similarly to vine plants. These Mini-shrooms will eat small-sized zombies ahead of them one at a time. They can additionally buff all kinds of mushroom plants if the plant on their tile happens to a mushroom plant, each mushroom plant receiving a different type of buff from the Mini-shrooms.

Guard-shroom can be planted on water, and Mini-shrooms can exist on water, as both are amphibious. Along that, Guard-shroom also is an air-guard plant, meaning that it can block certain flying zombies from passing by it, such as Balloon Zombie.

As a result of being part of the Abyss Series, Guard-shroom can charge the Eye of Abyss on top-left corner of the lawn by dropping Mini-shrooms around. Mini-shrooms can also charge the said eye by digesting the zombies they eat. Additionally, Guard-shroom costs 100 sun upon initial planting and doubles per each Guard-shroom on the lawn.

Origins

Although the exact mushroom Guard-shroom is based on is never stated in-game, it heavily resembles the shaggy ink cap (Coprinus comatus), also commonly known as the shaggy mane or lawyer's wig, a commonly occurring mushroom in Europe and North America. Unlike the in-game Guard-shroom, this mushroom cannot grow in or on water.

In English: Guard-shrooms can block enemies and spawn Mini-shrooms that can eat zombies. Plant features: Purple plant, tall What does 363.154e+13 have in common with Guard-shroom? When Dave asks, it takes Penny more than 4 hours to complete the Guard-shroom census and emerge from the basement. Penny strongly states that the number is accurate and has forbidden anyone else from going downstairs.

Upgrades

Plant Food effect

Guard-shroom will eat up to 5 zombies and spawn Mini-shrooms in a 3x3 area around it. Mini-shroom will retrigger the Plant Food ability of the plant on top of it if fed Plant Food.

Costumed

Guard-shroom's eating range is increased from 3x3 to 4x3 and can now eat up to 7 zombies.

	Abyssal Madness 深渊狂化	Guard-shroom will now spawn a more powerful Abyss Mini-shroom, which can devour medium-sized zombies; when Abyss Mini-shroom is eaten to death by a zombie, it will fall into the abyss and use its tentacles to drag the zombie into the ground. 守卫菇现在会生成一个更强大的深渊小守卫菇，此时深渊小守卫菇可以吞噬中体型的僵尸；当小守卫菇被僵尸啃食至死亡时，小守卫菇会改为掉入深渊地底，并使用触手把该僵尸一并拖入地底。

Trivia

• Out of all the plants to be heavily altered when released in the Chinese version, Guard-shroom is the only one to become an Abyss plant.
