Halloween event for Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 3
Halloween Night of Wonders (万圣奇妙夜[1]; pinyin: Wàn shèng qímiào yè) is a limited-time Themed event. The 2025 event was released with the 1.13.0 update, and was active from October 27th to November 16th.
the "classic" Pumpkin-Head Witch that can summon up to 2 Pumpkin-Head Zombies at once and transform 2 plants per hit into flaming pumpkins. This zombie is encountered through most of the levels.
the "elite" Pumpkin-Head Witch that can summon up to 3 Pumpkin-Head Zombies or 3 Ghost Zombie at once and transform 3 plants per hit into flaming pumpkins. This zombie is encountered through the last levels of the Hard Mode and almost on all levels of the Crazy mode.
the "Boss" Pumpkin-Head Witch that can summon up to 5 Pumpkin-Head Zombies or 5 Ghost Zombie at once and transform 5 plants per hit into flaming pumpkins. This zombie is only encountered in the final level of the event and serves at the boss of the Halloween event.
Aside from the four new special zombies, an exclusive plant is making a comeback from the beta versions of the game: Plantern (南瓜稻草人[1]). That plant is only available in this event and can't be unlocked for the rest of the game. There isn't any evolution made for this plant thus you can't give tacos to it. Plantern in this event uses light to reveal zombies that are invisible to other plants (i.e all Halloween exclusive zombies).
Additionally, for this event, a new grid item was created: Candy Pile. This item is an obstacle for zombies and they have to destroy it. Your goal is to prevent zombies from eating those Candy Piles. In each level, a certain number of Candy Piles have been pre-placed on the lawn.
These dialogue sentences are part of the 1st level of the event:

Crazy Dave: They have specially ordered taco-flavored gummies here, you wretched zombie!
Patrice: Uncle Dave, the zombies are back! Quick, think of a way to protect our Candy piles!"

Levels
The 2025 Halloween Night of Wonders themed event featured 9 levels on the Normal mode, 9 levels on the Hard mode and 6 levels on the Crazy mode for a total of 24 levels. All levels are free to access and play. The player can take as many attempts as they need to pass the level. Even if a level was succeeded, the player can still enjoy replaying it.
In all levels of the event, the main objective is to defeat all the zombies. There isn't unfortunately any level with the objective: "Protect the endangered plants".
Each level of this event also features secondary objectives such as "Survive without using the lawnmower Mo", "Collect X Star".
Additionnally, each level on the harder difficulties would allow the player to pick their level modifiers of choice called "Trick or Treat Challenges" in exchange of 1 to 3 historical stars per level modifier, with the historical stars being redeemable for rewards in the respective level's menu.

Halloween Candies
The 2025 event featured a Normal Mode, a Hard Mode, and a Crazy Mode which would allow the player to accumulate rewards from playing the levels and also increase the Halloween Candy rate production. For each new level passed, the production rate would increase.
Once all levels on Normal were passed, the Candy production rate would reach 4 Candies/h.
Once all levels on Hard were passed, the Candy production rate would reach 8 Candies/h.
Once all levels on Crazy were passed, the Candy production rate would reach 12 Candies/h.
Halloween Candy was collected through the Halloween Candy Jar with a maximal amount of 1000 Halloween Candies.
The 2025 event featured a Halloween Pumpkin Shop (or Halloween Jack O'Lantern Shop) in which the player could redeem the Halloween Candies he received by idling while chalenging levels for special buffs: Plantern Pumpkin Buffs, Jack O' Lantern Resource Buffs, and Pumpkin Damage Buffs to enhance the player's combat experience.

Halloween Coins
Additionnally, the player could collect historical stars from the level modifiers they used, referred as "Trick or Treat Challenges", during the Hard Mode & Crazy Mode levels, after which they could redeem them for rewards in the level's respective shop section.
Amongst rewards, players could obtain Halloween Coins that they could use in the Halloween Roulette event. The Roulette gave players a chance to unlock the new plant Cattail. You could also choose to unlock instead Electric Cattail's legendary costume: Captain Meow the Pirate (海盗喵船长[1]).
For either of those 2 prizes, after 70 pulls, the player was guaranteed to obtain it.
