Strategies
With
Imposter can be a great addition for Imp decks. It has decent strength for a 1 cost card, and doesn't cost you one when destroyed. Its pool is limited, so an Imp deck is important to get the most out of them.
So far, Imposter can give the following cards:
- Neutron Imp - Can be used to fire off bonus attacks, but only in environment decks, or be used alongside Science cards.
- Leprechaun Imp - Shuffles a Pot of Gold into your deck.
- Loose Cannon - Deals chip damage, but isn't good at anything else.
- Imp - The worst case scenario, as it does almost nothing beyond general Imp synergies.
- Mini-Ninja - Can be used to deal heavy damage to the plant hero in the early game.
- Another Imposter - Essentially gives itself back, allowing another replay.
- Impfinity Clone - A versatile card that can be played earlier on for an aquatic lane threat.
As Super Brainz or Huge-Giganticus, Impostor and the Conjured Mustache Imp can be used with Mustache Waxer's ability or Duckstache's Evolution, while Dr. Spacetime can make the Conjured Mustache Imp free due to reducing its cost by 1. For Impfinity, Impostor is a good way to boost Valkyrie, as it guarantees at least two zombies that are easily destroyed, thereby increasing Valkyrie's strength twice.
Against
Having no traits or extraordinarily good stats for a 1-brain card, Impostor himself isn't much of a threat. However, you will want to watch out for Impostor's "when destroyed" ability; while the Imps may cost only 1 brain, they can cause you a bit of trouble early on if unprepared, especially with Imp Commander or Toxic Waste Imp.
Damaging abilities like Banana Bomb's and Berry Blast's are the most simple and universal answer to both Impostor and the Imp Conjured, but most attacking plants can also deal with them with little trouble. However, make sure to remove any Toxic Waste Imps first if you want to use any durable plants, as Toxic Waste Imp can grant them the
Deadly trait, allowing them to destroy any plant they damage.

Trivia
Imposter in the crowd of zombies on the old Multiplayer screen
- The word "IMPossible" in his description is a portmanteau of the words "impossible" and "Imp."
- Impostor is the only card to affect other cards' tribes and cosmetically change other cards' appearances.
- When an Imposter is Conjured by Imposter, it does not gain a mustache due to already having one.
- When Plants vs. Zombies Heroes was first released, if the player carefully looked at the crowd of zombies in the Multiplayer, they could see Imposter, despite him being released many updates after the release of the game.
- Imposter's textures have also been in the game's softlaunch, suggesting it was already in the game files before its official release.
