Navel Laser is an ability for Citron in Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. When activated, Citron has a brief animation where he turns his triple shot weapon into a lance shaped weapon, then starts shooting a laser for 6 seconds. This laser starts off doing 5 damage per hit (6 critical), and increases to 10 damage (12 critical) and then 14 damage (17 critical). The visuals of the laser change slightly to indicate this.
Origins
Navel Laser gets its name from the Navel orange, an orange with an additional, rudimentary fruit growing at its base opposite the stem.
The name could also be a reference to the anime My Hero Academia, as one of the characters, Yuga Aoyama, has a superpower with the same name.

Strategies
With
Make sure to be accurate with the Navel Laser, otherwise you won't be able to do much damage. It is most effective against enemies with large hitboxes, such as All-Star, Super Brainz, and Engineer. As it is more powerful later on, you could hide behind cover until the laser gets into its most powerful stage, then start attacking, as while using it you are vulnerable to Zombies attacking from beside and behind you. Because of this, it is best to target a single Zombie, if possible, as it will be the only one fighting back, making it easier to destroy.
Against
The Navel Laser relies on accuracy, so to avoid it, run around or hide. The Citron won't be able to damage you. Another option is to get up close to the Citron (preferably with a melee character like Super Brainz) and attack them from all angles and they won't be able to get many hits back. Watch out for when the laser becomes more powerful, as it will be easier to destroy you.
