No. 42 Cattail (42号猫尾草; pinyin: 42 Hào Māo Wěi Cǎo), also known as Universe No. 42 Super Cute Cattail (42号宇宙超可爱猫尾草; pinyin: 42 Hào Yuánshǐ Chāo Kě'ài Māo Wěi Cǎo), is a plant part of the Parallel Universe No. 42 secret realm in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2, introduced in the v3.6.0 update.

She is an alternative version of Cattail, homing spikes towards the zombie closest to the player's house similarly to her regular counterpart, with a 10% chance of homing a numbing spike that unlike her regular counterpart will stun the zombie for 0.1 seconds instead of 1 second, a 10% chance of homing a spike that looks identical to her regular spikes albeit will instead deal percentage damage of 10% of the zombie's maximum health, a 20% chance of shooting a reed spike that will go down the lane and pierce through every zombie in that lane dealing a base damage of 80 to each one of them, as well as a 0.5% chance of homing a giant missile that will deal 3600 damage to the zombie that's hit by it. She also has the difference of costing 2500 sun instead of 325 sun, as well as requiring 20 seconds of planting cooldown instead of 7.5 seconds.

She is directly available for the player for free which the player can use her solely in the Parallel Universe No. 42 secret realm only, and she is always set on Tier 5, but she will never activate her Plant Food upon being planted (0% chance of Plant Food from Tier 4).

When given Plant Food, No. 42 Cattail fires a cyan laser for an amount of time that continuously deals 200 damage per second to single targets.
