P-Mech Assembler - Flamestar (植甲拼装者-炎星; pinyin: zhí jiǎ pīnzhuāng zhě - yán xīng), also known as Plant Armour Assembler - Flamestar, is a Hero Plant in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 introduced in the v3.3.0 update alongside Bun Chi, Pyre Vine and Gluttonous Snapdragon. P-Mech Assembler - Flamestar was available to use in both Auspicious Snow Welcomes Spring and Walking in the Snow to Seek Spring for free.

Design-wise, it is based on Homing Thistle, Bamboo Trooper and Banksia Boxer, where they are fused into a mecha, Banksia Boxer being the rider for it. It launches a huge flaming bullet that will drill throughout the entire lane ahead of it in a similar manner to Bamboo Trooper, whilst also firing hordes of flaming thistles that will home in on random zombies in a similar manner to Homing Thistle. It will also buff any fire plants surrounding it.

In order to plant it, you will need to fill up an orange sun bar to 100%, which is done by planting plants. Each plant planted adds few orange suns to the progress with the exception of Homing Thistle, Bamboo Trooper, and Banksia Boxer, which add up more orange suns than usual, and plants with a sun cost of 0, which will not fill up the bar at all. Similarly to Cob Cannon, it occupies 2 tiles when planted.

If shoveled or enough damage is dealt, it will normally die and disappear from the lawn. However, it can be replanted directly after enough time is passed, with its upgrades retained without being reset.

Upgrades

Leveling

This Hero Plant can be leveled up during the level through experience (which is earned by killing zombies). After enough experience is collected, the player can tap the Hero Plant to be prompted to 3 upgrade options. The first option is to upgrade its fire buffing ability, which buffs fire damage of the plants surrounding it in a 3x4 area. The second option is to upgrade its flaming thistles that home on zombies. Whereas the third option is to upgrade the flaming drill it launches. Each option can be upgraded 3 times. If an option is maxed out, the Hero Plant will be put in blue flames instead of regular flames. If 2 options are maxed out, the Hero Plant will be put in purple flames instead.

You can upgrade the Hero Plant only a specific amount of times depending on the tier it is. At tier 1, it can only be upgraded 3 times.

Plant Food Effect

This Hero Plant can be given Plant Food either directly or by using its own special Plant Food bar, which can be filled up if enough zombies are killed, and then tapped to activate the Plant Food effect. When given Plant Food, it will launch several explosive missiles in a small spot that will deal heavy damage to zombies.

Trivia

• Despite being a Hero Plant, he will can still be put to sleep by Archmage Zombie, turned into a sheep or frog by Wizard Zombie or Witch Zombie respectively, etc.
• Interestingly, it also has a dancing animation to play when effects such as Sunflower Singer's plant food is activated.
