Quarterly Bonus is a triassic uncommon zombie trick card in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes and a member of the Brainy class. It costs 4 to play, and its ability changes the strength of a zombie to 4 and makes it do a bonus attack.

  • Bug: Instead of setting the selected Zombie's Strength to 4 as the description says, it gives +4 to that Zombie.
  • Bug: A random Zombie rather than the selected Zombie does a Bonus Attack.

Strategies

With

Quarterly Bonus is an incredibly strong card, setting a Zombie's attack to 4 and a bonus attack in a single card. It's best used for cards with low base attack, especially low attack cards with Bullseye such as Teleportation Zombie and Quickdraw Con Man. Don't let its cost fool you, as such an attack boost can turn the tides in your favor, but because it sets a Zombie's attack to 4, it loses value for cards with 5 or more base attack since it will lower their attack, making Lurch for Lunch a better option for Zombies with high attack.

Against

Quarterly Bonus has two dangerous abilities that are difficult to counter, as there's no guarantee when and if a counter is at hand, even in ideal circumstances. Theoretically, one could apply enough pressure to the opponent or have lots of removal to ensure they have no zombies to play it on. Smarty Heroes have Winter Squash (though a Freeze card is required to actually destroy Zombies), Solar has the best chances, as they have Eyespore, Lawnmower and can employ Wing-Nut to disable bonus attacks entirely, though note that it won't prevent Zombies from gaining attack.
