Spiky Spikeweed is an alternate ability to the Chomper's Spikeweed ability. The difference between the spikeweeds is that the Spiky Spikeweed is more visible and has less health than Spikeweed, but the victim gets snagged longer and receives 70 damage, instead of 25 per hit.
The only way to unlock this ability is by purchasing sticker packs. Like most of the other alternate abilities, it was first introduced in the Garden Variety DLC. It takes 60 seconds to recharge one Spiky Spikeweed. The player can only have two though, versus the regular Spikeweed's four.
The Spiky Spikeweed deals more damage to Zombies it ensnares, but only a few can be deployed at a time.
Strategies
With
Spiky spikeweed does more damage than spikeweed, dealing 70 damage instead of the usual 50, but at a cost of having 1 less charge and having red eyes, making it more visible. Try dropping it in front of a zombie and then swallowing that zombie, gaining an extra charge for it. Also, Try dropping it in a big fight, where the zombie team will more likely be focusing on the enemy instead of the spikeweed, where they will accidentally walk in it, snaring and hurting that zombie and making him immobile.
Do not drop this in dark areas, as its red eyes will be more visible, drop it in lighter areas as the eyes will be less visible. Do not use this with Yeti Chomper, as you won't be relying on it much due to its ranged attack. Also, don't use Disco Chomper, as it dealing more damage will sometimes vanquish that zombie first, costing a charge for both the legendary meter and the ability.
Against
Spiky spikeweed can be potentially dangerous, as this will take away more than half health from anything except for any Super Brainz variant, any All-Star variant and Roadie Z, Due to him having 150 health instead of 125. Look out for his red eyes, as they are very visible and destoy him if you see him. Also, Use Z-mech, as he destroys any spikeweed variant by walking over it.
Comparison to vanilla counterpart
Pros
Deals more damage.
Cons
Only has two charges.
Doesn't blend in as well as Spikeweed due to the darker color scheme and the red eyes.
