Super Chomper (超级大嘴花; pinyin: Chāojí Dà Zuǐhuā) is an upgrade plant in Plants vs. Zombies: Original Edition. He requires a Chomper to be planted on.

He acts as a Chomper with a 20% chance of performing a special attack, where he widely opens his mouth and bashes it to the ground, eating all zombies (including Gargantuars) within a 4 tiles range, being his own tile and the 3 tiles ahead of him.

Origins

Super Chomper originates from Plants vs. Zombies: Social Edition, as a premium plant that was a part of a dairy products brand sponsorship. His special attack originates from Chomper in the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2, more specifically their level 5 ability.

His design differs from that of in-game in Plants vs. Zombies: Social Edition, and rather uses the design that was used in promotional images related to him.

Trivia

• Super Chomper's almanac entry is copied from Chomper's Plants vs. Zombies 2 almanac entry.
• He is no longer a promotional plant in this game as opposed to in Plants vs. Zombies: Social Edition.
• The concept of a special attack resembles the concept seen in the exclusive plants of Plants vs. Zombies: Endless Edition, where the said plants will perform their "Plant Food" attacks from time to time.
• Despite the almanac stating his recharge to be "short", it is actually "very long" like the rest of the upgrade plants.
  • Another teaser did not make such mistake.
  • This was fixed in an unknown update, and it now correctly displays "very long".
