Znake Lily is a premium plant in Plants vs. Zombies 2 that was released in the 11.9.1 update. It can spawn enchanted tornadoes that transform zombies into plant-team zomboids, or deal heavy damage to them if they cannot be transformed. Znake Lily can be targeted by Wizard Zombie but is immune to transformation‌ from it. While functioning nearly identically to Caulipower, Znake Lily has a smaller range. It can only transform zombies up to three columns away from it on any lane. Znake Lily can also attack and damage grid items such as tombstones.

Origins

Znake Lily is based on the cobra lily (Darlingtonia californica), a species of carnivorous plant in the new world pitcher plant family, Sarraceniaceae. It is the sole species within its monotypic genus, Darlingtonia.

Plant Food effect

When given Plant Food, Znake Lily launches multiple tornados to transform zombies into various types of plant "zomboids".

Enchant-mint effect

When boosted by Enchant-mint, Znake Lily's normal enchanted tornadoes will deal an additional 175 damage (increases by 25 damage for each level) to zombies it cannot transform, its Plant Food enchanted tornadoes will deal an additional 500 damage (level 1-5) or 1000 damage (level 6-10) to zombies it cannot transform, its Plant Food enchanted tornadoes count is increased by 1 (level 1-3), 2 (level 4-6), 3 (level 7-8), 4 (level 9), or 5 (level 10), and its attack cooldown is reduced by 1 second (level 1-2), 2 seconds (level 3-4), 2.5 (level 5-6) seconds, 3 seconds (level 7-8), 3.5 seconds (level 9), or 4 seconds (level 10).

Strategies

Znake Lily differs from Zoybean Pod in that it can quite literally remove threats from play while simultaneously striking back with its own Zomboid spawns. While both Zoybean Pod and Caulipower are not limited by range, Zoybean Pod covers only one lane, and Caulipower's targeting is extremely inconsistent. Despite Znake Lily's limited range, the fact it targets all rows allows it to respond better, and since its attacks ignore enemy durability, its spawned Zomboids don't have to worry much about fighting overleveled threats. In the worst case scenario they'll walk into Znake Lily's range immediately, only to be transformed again.

Znake Lily excels at handling smaller concentrations of zombies, as Zombiods reuse Zoybean Pod's spawn animations and therefore are briefly vulnerable when they appear, unable to attack other zombies for a second or so. If too many zombies enter Znake Lily's range at once, it might get overwhelmed, and multiple Znake Lilies may end up targeting the same zombie (or worse, a grid object), hence wasting their attacks. They will certainly require support against zombies that cannot be transformed, as all the do is a small burst of damage and a brief stun, which, given their slow attack rate, is not able to feasibly handle them. In the case of Zombie Medusas, Znake Lily can inadvertedly generate stone slabs due to Medusa petrifying the Zomboids. While DPS issues do get alleviated when Znake Lily is upgraded to spawn stronger and more durable zomboids, it continues to struggle against hores.

As mentioned before, Znake Lily has a notable matchup against Wizard Zombies, as it and the Zomboids are immune to their transformation. This enables it to conformably engage such threats, but it should not be the only source of offense, given its range.
