I think this answer is enough : http://plantsvszombies.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:718407#28 . This game is official, but it was not mention in PopCap website because it wasn't reach the requirement of a PvZ port (NDS, Xbox, WP7,... ports are good enough), and they killed it since smartphone were taking over the world while it's still in developing.
