Well, maybe Popcap didn't mean for this sort of story to be intentional but it could be fun spin on it. To add on to your thoery, it is quite possible that the reason why Crazy Dave is crazy is because of the repititive use of time travel. Why is he the only one with these plants and time travel technolegy? Is he from the far future? Different dimension? I'm not sure but if I were to guess is that he has been moving around too much between dimensions or time periods that it has made him go crazy. Just look at Doc Brown from Back to the Future, he started out fairly eccentric and it was just a descent from there. I know, he got a family in the end but you know. Doctor Who obviously has been travelingfor quite a long time now and has to freaking respawn every so often just to be stable. He always has an assistance as an anchor so he has a constant throughout his travels. In conclusion, it is quite possible that Crazy Dave has traveled before and that just might be why he's crazy.
