The pp.dat is a file that stores ALL of your progress but only for Android. I don't know what it is for iOS. If you make a copy of that file then you can transfer your progress on any device.

So in case Google Play Games thing won't work, I then would need to access my PVZ2 files on my computer, make a copy of that pp.dat file and put it on my new phone?
