I like that they're adding new plants, but I feel that they're kinda useless and repetitive.

What we would all like would be expansion levels which BRING BACK PLANTS FROM PVZ 1 (i.e BigWaveBeach expansion may be "fog type" levels, and offer sea-shroom on the first night and plantern on the second/third night.

Also, it would be cool to fight a zomboss in pitch-black darkness with the occassional flash of lightning (maybe make the zomboss' eye light up in the dark, showing where it is? and plantern would emit light in a 4by4 square around it or something).
