I'm not sure about iOS/iPad, but the original Android release came out in 2011. Originally it didn't feature the full selection of mini-games, survival modes etc. from the PC version, instead including a Quick Play feature that allowed you to play a standard level from any of the areas plus a few bonus games such as Whack a Zombie, Wall-nut Bowling etc. Around 2013, after EA bought PopCap, the standard mini-games were all released in packs that cost an absurd amount of coins.
