From my experience, once someone types in oppose or support at least ten other people in a row say that to. That is all because of peer pressure. 

There was one voting thread that the first person said support. Then 30 said support or support to neutral. Then this one guy said oppose followed by 30 people who said oppose. And I'm pretty sure that what happened was people usually get peer pressured into what the last person said. Basically what I mean is that people get the ideas from the other people and not saying what they actually think.

To recap, not letting other people seeing the vote of other users minimizes that chance. Only forum moderators and people beyond that level should.<ac_metadata title="Not letting users see other people's votes."> </ac_metadata>
