In a manner of fact, the only reason the plants got out of the rule, was because most people blindly supported your vote that just had "They don't look/sound feminine/masculine!!!11"
I think the PLANTS should have genders, at least some. I mean, the games mention Chomper, Corn, Peashooter, and Citron as boys, while Cactus, Sunflower, and Rose are girls.
Peashooter is "described as male" indeed on the almanac, however, the hero Green Shadow is female. Would you like  to explain to me, why did she somehow "change sex"?
Or maybe Chomper, also considered male by the almanac, has a female hero called Chompzilla. Again, care to explain to me why the gender change?
I thought these were about the GARDEN WARFARE versions, not the Heroes versions.
Although plants may be on different timelines, of the same universe, doesn't mean plants are too different.

All chompers have teeth and eat zombies.

All peashooters shoot peas.

All Sunflowers produce sun...

Why would it be any different comparing the PVZH occurance, with the PVZ2 occurance (Sunshroom) with PVZGW? All of them have almost the same characters, all of them have the same need. Gender Neutrality.

Garden Warfare sunflowers don't produce sun.
