I think the PLANTS should have genders, at least some. I mean, the games mention Chomper, Corn, Peashooter, and Citron as boys, while Cactus, Sunflower, and Rose are girls.

Peashooter is "described as male" indeed on the almanac, however, the hero Green Shadow is female. Would you like  to explain to me, why did she somehow "change sex"?

Or maybe Chomper, also considered male by the almanac, has a female hero called Chompzilla. Again, care to explain to me why the gender change?

Well, the Hero Tron 3000 turned RARE plants and zombies into heroes! Maybe GS and C turned into heroes becouse they where the only one in their spice that had that gender?

Green Shadow destroyed the Hero-tron, and she was already a Hero. Chompzilla is just random.
