Maypop Mechanic was the senior engineer of Urban Development Ministry of Plant City.
Biography
Academic Competition
15 years before his debut in Insect Armor Special Forces, Maypop Mechanic has always been out-performed by Green Shadow academically, becoming jealous of the admirations given to Green Shadow, in addition to the harsh requirements from his parents. He made up his mind to become the best scientist ever after graduating from Plant University and getting the chance to study abroad. Two years after that, he returned to Plant City and had the goal of turning Plant City into the best modernised smart city.
Uncleared Shadow
Maypop Mechanic was later rejected by Plantern, Mayor of Plant City, as Green Shadow is already studying on robotics for the city. He was recommended to join the Urban Development Ministry instead, working under Escape Root, Minister of Urban Development. He was later hired by Tile Turnip to become the engineer of No. 1 Construction Company in Plant City and designed the remote-controlled destruction robots.
Destinied Arch-nemesis
A few days before the story in the book takes place, he completed a newly designed robot and was informed by Escape Root that several underground pipes in the Citiy Center have exploded. He was sent to investigate the incident and he tried to use his ball-shaped robot, but it lost connection with the controller. He was then ordered by Escape Root to evacuate the citizens while Escape Root would go and seek help from Green Shadown and Solar Flare. This reminded Maypop Mechanic of the unfair treatments he had had because of Green Shadow constant outstanding performance. He decided to defeat Green Shadow at all costs.
Raging Robots
At night, Imnpfinity tried to hide in a construction site and was soon discovered by Green Shadow and Solar Flare. The remote-controlled destruction robots at the site all turned against Impfinity, Green Shadow and Solar Flare under Maypop Mechanic's distant control. Impfinity was kidnapped by one of them to Maypop Mechanic's hidden basement in his production workshop in No. 1 Construction Company while the others battled against the plant heroes. Green Shadow was damaged by a rusted drill of one of the robots, angering Solar Flare, causing her to burn down all the robots using her superpowers. As Impfinity was nowhere to be found, the heroes then went to No. 1 Construction Company to find out why they were attacked by the robots. The boss, Tile Turnip, then led them Maypop Mechanic, the designer of the robots who was in the production workshop. Maypop Mechanic then showed a fake record showing the system was hacked, misleading the heroes into thinking that it was Dr. Zomboss's doing. Before the heroes left, Maypop Mechanic reminded Green Shadow to have a tetanus vaccination in a hospital as the drill she got hurt from was rusted. After they had left, he entered the basement to find the tied up Impfinity.
Undead Co-operation
Maypop Mechanic took the USB on Impfinity and separated the data within into two halves. He then requested Impfinity to take him to Dr. Zomboss to learn from Dr. Zomboss's failures against the heroes and returned half of the data in the USB. After meating Dr. Zomboss in Zombie City, Dr. Zomboss and Impfinity agreed that they will pretend to be defeated by Maypop Mechanic, and then he will give the rest of the data back to them.
Green Shadow's Realization
In their base, Green Shadow and Solar Flare checked the security cameras and found that Impfinity was kidnapped by one of the many robots that attacked them to the Street Heart Garden. Green Shadow then realized that Maypop Mechanic somehow knew that she was hurt by a rusted drill without ever telling him. She suspected Maypop Mechanic of intentionally controlling the robots to attack her and Solar Flare. They then split up to find Maypop Mechanic. Solar Flare went to the Urban Development Minitry, only to be informed by Escape Root that he has been absent due to affairs in No. 1 Construction Company. She then went to the company only to be told by Tile Turnip that Maypop Mechanic has been absent due to family issues. Tile Turnip told Solar Flare that he did not think Maypop Mechanic would ever break the law as he had been very serious about his job and the development of the city. Solar Flare then left the company, without knowing that Maypop Mechanic has been eavesdropping them using a nearby roomba.
Trapping Green Shadow
Green Shadow went to the garden where Impfinity was brought to by the robot. She found a hidden entrance on a giant piece of decorational rock. Maypop Mechanic then trapped her in the underground laboratory as she entered. He then left to continue his plan and promised that he would release Green Shadow after becoming a hero as he released sleeping gas into the chamber. He left the laboratory as Green Shadow called for Solar Flare's help using an origami robot. Solar Flare then came to save the unconcious Green Shadow and brought her to a hospital.
Being Betrayed
Right outside the city hall, Impfinity drove a robot to destroy the city and was soon defeated by Maypop Mechanic, all according to Maypop Mechanic's plan. He was praised by the Mayor Plantern, Minister Escape Root and all the citizens that were present. However, he was interrupted by Dr. Zomboss as he had created his own version of nanorobots and no longer needed to co-operate with Maypop Mechanic, announcing Maypop Mechanic's true plan to everyone present, then destroyed Maypop Mechanic's robot. Dr. Zomboss was then defeated by the heroes.
Arrested
Afterwards, Maypop Mechanic was arrested for multiple criminal charges. Green Shadow told Maypop Mechanic that her mother has been comparing her with Maypop Mechanic, always saying how attentive Maypop Mechanic has been, and further proving that with her wound that she forgot to treat. Maypop Mechanic finally realized that there are things he is better at than Green Shadow.
