I don't use instant kills much, but when I do I prefer using Jalepenos. They cost less than Cherry Bombs, and can melt ice. They're also more useful for Gargantuars on Roof levels, as they can hit them from the other side of the roof, so you don't have to put a pot right next to the Gargantuar.
