Tested him out (soft release) and unlike PvZ 1 Pumpkin or other vine plants, Pumpkin actually protects the plant inside from Surfer's surfboard (which also destroys the surfboard), a tackle from All-Star Zombie, and a Garg Smash from Gargs. The plant will remain unharmmed, but is still proned to be eaten/another attack.
