Garbage in, garbage out

Enlarging pictures that had terrible picture quality to begin with does nothing to improve their quality. It just makes them look worse. This is known in computer science as "garbage in, garbage out" and can also be described by the colloquial expression "putting lipstick on a pig."

The better way to handle this is to take decent pictures to begin with, so there's no need to do this kind of stuff. I mean, how hard is this?

This problem is especially pervasive in the Chinese pages. I leave for a while, come back and every picture of Chinese content has potato quality. How is this possible?

Basic Grammar

its vs it's

"it's" is a contraction of "it is" or "it has," eg:

  • It's raining outside (= It is raining outside)
  • It's been a pleasure (= It has been a pleasure)

"its" is a possessive pronoun, indicating possession of/relationship to something:

  • My pet parakeet is green. Its favorite food is corn. (= the parakeet's favorite food is corn)
  • The new world hasn't been released yet, but its internal name is "Lost City" (= the new world's internal name is "Lost City")

Internal stuff

PvZ uses Cafeteria Black for most of their in-game stuff, and Burbank Big Regular Bold for ads

Internal plant names

Internal zombie names

PvZ2's Health System

Regular zombies have 10 HP, right? WRONG! Regular zombies have 13.5 HP (assuming 1 HP = 1 pea's worth of damage)

However, they have a "critical point" at 9 HP. What is this critical point business? Well, it's a point after which the next shot will cause the zombie's HP drops rapidly to zero (at a rate of 3 HP/sec), but it is still alive to the game. This means a zombie who's taken 10 shots is still alive for a couple of seconds. Even though it can no longer damage your plants, it will still absorb shots.

This is why zombies who appear dead (lost their head) are still attacked by plants. Plants don't attack dead zombies. Internally, a zombie without its head is not dead yet.
