Only time I ever wrote a fan letter was to the author of a series called “Sea Quest” (I was around 6 at the time). The author had also written a more popular series called “Beast Quest”, but I didn’t read it. I sent a letter with a few questions (What’s the next book called, when does it come out, etc.). A few months later I got a letter that had a sheet (probably computer generated or done by some random worker) of FAQ and answers about the other series that I didn’t read. I was sad for a week.
