Heroes are the main playable characters in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes, and the ones required to be defeated so the game can end.
Each hero has a signature superpower and three other miscellaneous ones. Their classes determine the type of cards they can play, as well as any potential combos they can pull off.
Green Shadow and Super Brainz are the guaranteed starter heroes for each side. After playing a certain amount of matches, the player will need to choose up to two new starter heroes to access cards from other classes, the sequence being:
Solar Flare -> Spudow/Wall-Knight or Spudow -> Solar Flare/Chompzilla
The Smash -> Electric Boogaloo/Impfinity or Electric Boogaloo -> The Smash/Rustbolt
Beta-Carrotina and Huge-Giganticus are currently unobtainable.
