Mo
Mo, formerly known as Smart Mower, is one of the major characters in Plants vs. Zombies 3. It is a lawnmower robot that runs over zombies after they are close to it, serving as an equivalent to a Lawn Mower from the first two games.
Overview
Mo is a robotic lawnmower with a TV for a face and the body of a standard lawnmower, with a large buzz blade below it. Whenever he expresses their emotion, both his screen color and face expression changes: Cyan is happy or content, Red when angry or upset, Orange with an exclamation mark when confused or the zombies are too close, Violet when sad or scared, and Purple when it clears the Z-fog or hacked.
Personality
Mo is a very compliant security robot that fully supports his creator, Crazy Dave. When he is in defensive mode, he acts authoritative and threatens to mulch down any intruders that come into contact with him, especially Patrice Blazing before recognizing her when she spoke the correct password, and Mo becomes friendly towards her. Despite his purpose as a lawnmower, he is also very sadistic after stating that he enjoys mulching down the zombies and other creatures if necessary, such as the birds attacking the Taco Tree.
Despite his sadistic intentions, he is very remorseful after realizing he destroyed Crazy Dave's garden and is very stubborn about clearing the Z-Fog, despite Dave and Patrice telling him to stop. He is also very jealous of Twister being Crazy Dave's loyal companion and would rather have them separated. Outside of jealousy, he finds Twister to be irritating and feels uncomfortable when she tries to sniff his exhaust port.
Strategies
Unlike lawnmowers from previous installments, Mo is a one-use lawnmower that clears one lane only and leaves the player's house completely defenseless after his use for the rest of the level. This means the player must actually try to clear zombies in every lane and must avoid getting swarmed as much as possible. However, the player can use Mo if one lane is too difficult to control, like when it is swarmed with groups of zombies (and possibly threatening ones like Bowling Zombie, Pigeon Zombie, or Gargantuar.)

- Based on the in-game dialogues, Mo's gender is male.
- He managed to defend Crazy Dave while he was sedated from eating the snoozy taco for 3 months.
- In the early access version of Plants vs. Zombies 3, it is heavily implied that Mo actually killed the young plants growing in Crazy Dave's garden when he was reprogrammed or hacked.
- One of Mo's quotes, "I am become hacked, destroyer of lawns" is a reference to the quote "I am become death, the destroyer of worlds" said by theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer.
