The Progress-O-Meter was a feature in Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 that was added in the Trouble in Zombopolis: Part Two DLC. It was located in the Backyard Battleground outside the Town Hall. It was a large contraption created by the gnomes, and it was a gold machine with a large blue thermometer-like bar in the middle, a red bell on the top and three chests around it, colored yellow, blue and red. This was where the player could track the progress of Community Challenges and see how complete they were. Community Challenges, as well as Hero Showcases, have been discontinued from the game.

As the community completed the challenge, the blue gauge filled up. There was three signs on the gauge, they were saying 'Goal 1', 'Goal 2' and 'Goal 3'. When the gauge filled to a goal, the bell rang and fireworks went off, indicating that the community has reached a goal.

Additionally, when the community reached a goal, a chest could be opened at the bottom of the Progress-O-Meter, allowing the player to obtain the rewards. The first chest (the yellow chest) was opened in Goal 1 and contained a small reward such as coins, the second chest (the blue chest) was opened in Goal 2 and contained a decent reward such as a sticker pack, and the third chest (the red chest) was opened in Goal 3 and contained an incredible reward such as a special item.

The community also had only a week before the challenge ended and the Progress-O-Meter restarted. Also, chests that could be opened could only be opened for a limited time, so the player had to open them as soon as possible.

However, players should note that they had to contribute to the community challenge if they wanted to redeem the rewards. If the community has achieved a goal, the chest remains locked until the player has contributed a reasonable amount as the Progress-O-Meter Indicator. For example, the first community challenge in the game was to beat as many opponents as possible. If the community has reached the first objective, the Progress-O-Meter indicated to players who have not yet contributed that they needed 15 vanquishes to unlock the first chest.

Trivia

  • If the community met Goal 3 of a Community Challenge, the Community Total would not exceed the number needed to meet Goal 3.
  • When a goal for a community challenge was reached, the lock on the chest that could be opened once said goal was reached disappeared.
  • The Progress-O-Meter was retired in 2020 alongside Community Challenges and Hero Showcases.
