I've played every single Plants vs. Zombies game except for Chinese exclusives and PVZ Adventures. My favorite PVZ games are:

My opinions on the PVZ games
Plants vs Zombies
This game is simply amazing. Everything is just perfect. Everything is balanced and the game is perfect for casual and hardcore gamers. The pacing is perfect, the music is amazing, and the characters are also amazing. It's so good that I have it on my Xbox, Ds, Iphone, and Ipad!
Plants vs Zombies 2
PVZ 2 is a good sequel to PVZ. It has a lot of levels and things to do. The only thing I hate about it is the microtransactions. But the game is still fun to play and can give you hours and hours of gameplay. It gives you a challenge and is more for hardcore gamers. I managed to do a F2P run. It's hard.
Plants vs Zombies 3
This is when PVZ tries out a new system for the PVZ tower defense gameplay. Gotta say, I have a lot of hopes for the game. I know it isn't the best right now, but eventually it could be amazing. It's much different than before and can offer you a new experience.
Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare
This Garden Warfare is extremely fun. I might seem relatively basic at first but the game really focuses on strategy and sneaking on the enemy. And Boss Mode is a great way to mix it up. I personally think it's better than Neighborville even, it's a great game that I still play today.
Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2
This game takes the original Garden Warfare and makes about everything better. New modes, characters, maps, and more await you in the sequel to a great game. It's an amazing shooter that still has the charm of the original Garden Warfare.
Plants vs Zombies Battle For Neighborville
It sucks that this game isn't getting updates anymore. It had so much potential and I had a lot of hopes for it. It gets rid of Variants but still is a fun game to play. It has a PvE reigon, New characters, and improved on some stuff from before.
Plants vs Zombies Heroes
This is a Wacky card game that is enjoyable to play. It can get unfair at times but the game is really addictive. The new original plants and zombies are amazingly made, and the game is overall fun!
