User blog:CitronFire3/Modern Day Part 3 (Custom ideas)
Heyo everyone! I decided to make custom levels for Modern Day Part 3, if there is part 3, lol.
New plants
- Night Bloom - Day 35
- Shady Catchfly - Day 38
- Ghastring - Day 46
- Clong (Premium)
Night Bloom
Night Bloom is the sixth plant obtained in Modern Day in Plants vs. Zombies 2. It will hide when planted, but will come out after 15 seconds and will create a barrier with the health of Wall-nut. If powered by a Moonflower, it's shield will have Infi-nut's health, but can regenerate if it's destroyed. The shield will disappear if Night Bloom is eaten. The shield can also can have things thrown past it.
Almanac entry
Sun cost: 200
Toughness: Low
RANGE: Column (in front of it)
RECHARGE: Sluggish
Night Bloom takes time to bloom, but when bloomed it will create a barrier that can block zombies off.
Special: when powered, it will only take 5 seconds to bloom, and the barrier will have less health, but can regenerate if it gets destroyed.
Night Bloom loves the dark. "It's happy place at all times. I suggest you don't mess with me at night."she has warned the zombies, they have been warned, unless they aren't.
Plant Food effect
When fed with Plant Food, Night Bloom will automatically bloom and create another barrier in front of the barrier she already created. The Zombies will now have to eat through two barriers. When powered, the shields will gain Wall-nut's health instead of Infi-nuts.
Strategies
Night Bloom's are good for any type of level. You should choose Night Bloom over other defensive plants because it's a automatic Infi-Nut plant food, but things can be thrown past it. Night Bloom's health makes her a good target though, so it's best to protect her. It's also helpful to put it in front of strong plants and high costly plants such as Coconut Cannon or Winter Melon to protect them.

Trivia
- Night Bloom is based off of a Four O' Clock Flower.
- Her original bloom-time when powered was five seconds, but was nerfed to nine seconds.
- She was nerfed once again when she is powered. Her barrier has less health when it's powered, but still regenerates.
- Despite zombies and other things can be thrown over the barrier, Fisherman Zombie can not hook plants behind it.
Shady Catchfly
Shady Catchfly is the seventh plant obtained in Modern Day in Plants vs. Zombies 2. When a zombie comes near it, it will pull it in and put a random status effect on it, then launch it back to the beginning of the lane. If powered by a Moonflower, they can grab five zombies instead of one, and has a larger chance to put the best status effect on them.
Almanac entry
Sun cost: 175
Toughness: Average
RANGE: Touch (tile in front of it)
RECHARGE: Mediocre
Shady Catchfly's are shadow plants that can grab one zombie and put a random status effect on it.
Special: when powered, they can grab five zombies instead of one, and has a larger chance to put the best status effect on them.
Shady Catchfly, you guessed it, does catch flies. "Give me them... GIVE ME THEM ALL!" he says.
Plant Food effect
When fed with Plant Food, it will suck in five zombies at once, put the strongest status effect on it, then fling all five to the first tiles of each lane.
Strategies
Shady Catchfly's should be powered whenever possible. Only being able to affect one zombie then disappear makes it pointless. It's best to protect Shady Catchfly with a Pumpkin or a Wall-nut since it can reach past wall-nuts.

Trivia
- Shady Catchfly is based off of a Nottingham Catchfly.
- Some status effects consist of slow, poison, fire, and more.
- One of the rarest is "sweeten"
Ghastring
Ghastring is the eighth plant obtained in Modern Day in Plants vs. Zombies 2. Ghastring's can pull in three zombies, one at a time in a 5x5 area around it, and will slowly do mediocre damage to them. After grabbing thee zombies, it vanishes. If powered by a Moonflower, it can grab three zombies, all at once, and fling them off the screen completely. Ghastring can only do this three times before disappearing.
Almanac entry
Sun cost: 125
Toughness: Average
RANGE: 5X5
RECHARGE: Mediocre
Will pull in three zombies, one at a time and slowly do mediocre damage to them overtime.
Special: when powered, it will grab three zombies all at once and fling them off the screen.
Ghastring is very ghastly. So ghastly that he'll make you ghast. Does this make sense? Neither does Ghastring.
Plant Food effect
When fed with Plant Food, Ghastring will fling all three of it's rings on three random tiles close to where zombies are, and it will damage them slowly, similar to a Lava Guava, but not as fast. The ring's will stay for 25 seconds before vanishing.
Strategies
Ghastring's can be good for beginning of levels, and in the middle, but Ghastring isn't great with huge crowds unless powered. Since Ghastring will grab the three strongest zombies near it, it helps you get rid of them fast, but note it can;t get rid of a Gargantuar. If Ghastring is not powered, it's crowd control isn't great.
Gallery
Trivia
- Ghastring is a mix of Nightshade, Spore-shroom and Shadow-shroom.
- Ghastring replaced a plant called Nebulous Kamal, which was going to fire petals in three lanes, one lane at a time, and when powered, it would fire petals in the three lanes at once, and sometimes the petals would split in to other lanes.
Clong
Clong is a gemium plant in Plants vs. Zombies 2. Clong's create a song that can boost three random plant's stats, usually the weakest plant on the lawn. He can boost strength, defense, health, and speed.
Almanac entry
Sun cost: 100
Toughness: Average
RANGE: Random (random plant)
RECHARGE: Slow
Clong's play a song that can randomly boost any sort of stat on three plants, then disappears.
Special: increases strength, defense, health or speed.
Clong loves music. You can hear him ALL day singing, dancing, or just blasting music. "It's how I keep my groove! Don't even bother me." he says.
Plant Food effect
When fed with Plant Food, Clong will increase a random stat to every plant on the lawn. The stat is not all the same, rather all different. Rarely, Clong can boost a plant's stats COMPLETELY, meaning it can increase every stat, but this is very rare.
Strategies
Clong's are very good to boost weak plants such as Peashooter's, or plants with low health such as Night Bloom. If your using a weak plant in a endless zone, but don't want to switch, Clong is a very good plant.

Trivia
- Clong is a portmanteau of Clover and Song.
- It sounds similar to Clang.
- Red arrow means it's boosting strength, blue means it's boosting defense, green means it's boosting health, and purple means it's boosting speed.
