PvZ2's main story mode has ended (the only updates are Epic Quests and even more $$$ premiums), so I'll predict possible Console Ports in this page. Note that I'm not talking about the PC port; everyone did that already.

From PopCap and EA's view, is it viable?

Possibly. PvZ1 had several console ports, and Garden Warfare 1 was first released on the consoles. There are former PvZ1 players who want the PvZ sequel on the big screen, and GW players may want to experience the parent "Tower Defense" series as well.

Controls

PlayStation4 and Xbox One

  • Move Cursor: Left analog stick or D-pad.
  • Select plants: Right bumper and Left bumper.
  • Fast-forward: One of the triggers.
  • Plant something: PS3 X.png/XBOX A.png Button.
  • Use a Plant Food: PS3 Square.png/XBOX X.png Button.
  • Select Power Ups, Activate Power Ups: If the game only allows one kind of Power Up per level, then it would be activated by PS3 Triangle.png/XBOX Y.png, otherwise it would be selected and "planted" like a plant.
  • Move a minecart: Try to plant on a rail (XBOX A.png/PS3 X.png) will move the minecart to that tile.

Nintendo 3DS

Same as iOS and Android versions.

Game Modes

  • Adventure Mode
  • Puzzle Mode (If I, Zombie is included. Otherwise it would simply be called Vasebreaker Mode.)
  • Survival Mode?
  • Versus Mode
  • Co-op Mode (PlayStation4 and Xbox One)

Changes

  • Most, if not all, money premium plants and upgrades would be unlocked by gems. Though it is possible that some may remain money premium in the form of paid DLCs.
  • In PlayStation4 and Xbox One versions, Power Toss will most likely be removed and replaced by something new or Power Flame becomes available in all worlds. Power Toss is designed only for touch-screens and it does not make sense in cursor-based movement of PS4/XBone versions.
  • In PlayStation4 and Xbox One versions, Plant Food purchase will most likely be treated as a Power Up due to how the control works.
  • In PlayStation4 and Xbox One versions, Sun Bombs will be problematic. Most likely, the trigger buttons will collect only the normal sun, and a bomb will be activated by PS3 Triangle.png/XBOX Y.png Button.
  • Piñata Parties and seasonal events will most likely work on offline based on the system clock, playing one of those builtin levels. Limited time premiums are also based on the system clock.
  • Zombies drop coins and gems more often, unless PopCap do something similar to one-time purchase "Coin Packs" in PvZ1 iOS version.
  • Marigold will most likely become plantable in-game with some Sun cost (like 50 in Chinese version), though she might be a gemium or even a money DLC.
  • There might be version exclusive Brain Busters and/or Mini-games, but I don't have any idea about them. Heavy Weapon or Air Raid (DS mini-game) might still be cool though.
  • Trash Can Zombie in Modern Day and Versus Mode. It's very unlikely, but he was one of the major exclusive content of console ports.
