I wouldn't know where to start if I had to list everything. On the top of my head, power abuse, too many staff members (again), no control over what's uploaded whatsoever (and no licensing and categorizing) and the horrible forum system (too many branches, billions of threads, very disorganized etc).
Regarding your second question, as far as I remember it dates back to when Triplant was annoying everyone on chat about his fake plants and new wiki. I think Gaspar supported him, and I called him a bot because of it. Bottle, botany have the word BOT in them, and Toby reversed is Y-Bot.
