- If you treat gaming as an academical science (like me) and like to do research to master the game with minimum effort, this guide is for you.
1. to reach level 2. Its damage increases from 120 to 140 dps, with a larger explosion radius to boot.
2. and
to reach level 3. Both will have a decreased sun cost. Spikeweed can now 1 vs 1 infinite basic zombies, spikerock can now 1v1 infinite conehead zombies.
3. and
to reach level 5. Both will be able to produce more sun.
4. to reach level 5 and then 10. (and
to reach level 6) Both will have a decrease in sun cost and become twice as powerful as they were when at level 1. Very helpful in piñata parties.
5. to reach level 8 (recharge timing < freeze time, hence it can infinitely stall one zombie on its own), level 11 (freezes zombies in 1x3 area) and level 16. (freezes zombies in 3x3 area)
6. to reach level 6, where it explodes after destroying a grave.
7. to reach level 4 (can 1 vs 1 conehead zombies) and then level 13 (can 1 v 1 Robo-cone Zombies).
8. to reach level 4 (sun cost becomes 125) and then lvl 5 (recharge decrease by 7 seconds from level 4). Its upgrades will be useless if you have a high levelled Bombegranate or Grapeshot.
9. to reach level 3 (sun cost becomes 450) and then its sun cost will also decrease at lvl 6 and 10.
10. to reach level 5. It can melt octopi from Octo Zombies.
11. to reach level 5, where it gains a poison breath, and then level 8 (costs 0 sun).
12. to reach level 5 (can now knockback 6 times, each knockback dealing 5 dps, so it can defeat one conehead zombie on its own) and then level 10 (knockback 9 times!)
13. to reach level 3, where it suddenly becomes a zombie-killing monster (only to be outclassed by starfruit if you have it).
14. to reach level 5. When combined with Blover, this plant insta-kills zombies in a 3x3 area via its newly-gained knockback ability.
15. to reach level 3, where it costs 175 sun and deals much more damage. Will be more OP as it keeps getting levelled up.
16. to reach level 5 (costs 25 sun) and level 10. (costs 0 sun)
17. to reach level 5 (the second tile for free). Will have a constant decrease in sun as it gets levelled up.
18. to reach level 5, where it costs 25 sun and gives much more sun. (you'll be surprised!) Ok maybe this one is the least important of'em all, but it's still noteworthy.
19. to reach level 10, where it costs 25 sun and when a plant is destroyed, it heals them to 125% (25% extra) hp the plant originally has!
20. to reach level 6 (gives 100 sun instead of 75) and then level 10 (gives 150 [yes, 150] sun!)
21. to reach level 5. It now costs 25 sun less, which is useful for Jurassic Marsh expansion levels.
22. to reach level 6. (now does 160 dps and has an even larger explosive radius)
23. to reach level 5, it then costs 0 sun.
24. to reach level 4 (can drag 2 zombies instead of one before expiring) and then level 10 (now drags 3 zombies).
25. to reach level 3 (blue bulb recharges first, instead of the useless aquamarine bulb) and then level 7. (orange bulb aka the most powerful bulb, recharges first!)
26. to reach level 3. (besides a sun drop at level 2, one banana can now insta-kill 1 buckethead zombie)
27. to reach level 7. (besides a 25 sun decrease, it's projectiles deal the maximum amount of damage aka 4.5 dps with 4 dps splash damage)
28. to reach level 3 (can squash zombies 2 times before vanishing into thin air) and then level 9 (squashes zombies 3 times now!)
29. to reach level 4 (sun decreases by 25) and then level 7 (besides another 25 sun drop, it deals 120 dps with its flame trails)
30. to reach level 3 (costs 75 sun). Its sun cost will keep dropping by 25 at levels 7 and 10.
31. to reach level 5 (has a chance to shoot plasma peas).
32. to reach level 5 (it now shrinks zombies hp by 3 times, which is the maximum amount it can shrink zombies by, oh, and it also costs 25 sun) and level 10 (shrinks zombies for free!)
33. to reach level 4 (besides a sun drop, it also becomes another plant you won't recognise from its level 1 counterpart, in a tremendously positive way).
34. to reach level 5 (can swallow zombies 3 times when powered) and level 6 (costs 100 sun). At level 9, it can swallow 4 zombies before dying.
35. to reach level 3 (25 sun drop). Will keep having a drop of sun cost as it levels up. At level 7, it deals the maximum amount of damage possible, (60 dps) while costing "only" 300 sun.
36. to reach level 2, as it can one-shot early Conehead Zombies. This plant is also an excellent choice to complete pVz2 adventure mode without other more powerful premium plants.
