Introduction
Underrated cards. There's a ton of them, let me just say that. Plants vs. Zombies Heroes has been neutral towards these cards. Sometimes, they don't even know how underrated they actually are. I'm no expert, but I will be giving my personal opinion on these cards and why I think they're underrated. Here we go!
Plants
Guardian
- Primal Potato Mine is a pretty interesting card. Firstly, it controls zombies way better than its original, Potato Mine. The only thing it can't kill on the first turn is Planetary Gladiator and Cat Lady... and yeah that's it. It answers so many turn 1 plays, like Conman, Arm Wrestler, and Cheese Cutter. Secondly, it holds back nearly the entire turn 2 and turn 3 Zombie army, with exceptions like Teleportation Zombie, Dr. Spacetime, and Team Mascot. Basically, this is efficient in controlling the opponent. Even if they remove it with a Trick or an Environment, it's still going to explode and do wonders for your deck.
- Pea-Nut is pretty cool. Not only is it well on-curve, with nearly no way to soft-remove it in one card on Turn 3, but you can also use it to protect a vital 2-drop from the previous turn (Black-Eyed Pea, Rotobaga, and any ramping card that's vulnerable). It also gets Pea synergy, so it gets boosted by The Podfather, Nut synergy, which synergizes with Smackadamia and serves as evolution fodder for Loco Coco, Team-Up synergy, which boosts it and all Team-Up plants via. Go-Nuts, and overall it's just so underestimated that it's insane.
- Tough Beets is a great card to play on turn 5. The tempo it gives is so insane, that it could be considered Super-Rare. In fact, it's more worthy of Super-Rare than some other Guardian cards (I'm looking at you Guacodile). 6-strength card for 5 is already good. But an ability that grants it extra health depending on the swarms of both sides, AND Armored? That's a lot to take in! This could be used as a budget finisher in Wall-Knight aggro along with Elderberry. Speaking of Wall-Knight aggro, here's a deck example to get you started (budget, of course).
