Vasebreaker was a mini-game in Plants vs. Zombies 3. It was added in the October 2022 beta, Vasebreaker involved breaking open vases to reveal it’s contents that can be helpful or harmful to the player. The objective remains the same as in previous iterations: build a defense to defeat the zombies hidden within the vases. It could be accessed via a tab on the right side of the screen. You were allowed to play it every 24 hours, and it always would give you Infini-Brains and an infinite Rake Trap booster for a limited amount of time as a Daily Challenge Reward. Unlike past renditions of this mini-game, there wasn’t any set of levels, and instead the player was given a randomized level to try and beat.

To unlock Vasebreaker, the player would’ve needed to finish Level 30.

Gameplay

Each vase would have either a zombie or a differing amount of sun in it. The sun given always matched the exact amount needed to plant the level’s given plant. The brown vases with a question mark symbol would give either a zombie or sun, the yellow vases with a sun symbol would give sun, and the purple vases with a Z symbol would always give a zombie. Unlike previous iterations, this version was a lot easier. You would be allowed to shovel and plant plants in this mini-game. Sometimes, you would have plants pre-planted for you to help in the level. The vases would also not cover the whole lawn, and only a certain portion of it. Finally, Mo would also be in this mini-game, acting the same as he did in normal levels.

Trivia

  • Unlike the usual “Ready, Set, PLANT!” that played before the start of adventure levels, when playing Vasebreaker, the text would instead say: “Ready, Set, BREAK!”.
  • This iteration of Vasebreaker had 5 different possible shapes of vases. The 1st was vase shaped, much like previous iterations, the 2nd was shaped like a jug, the 3rd was shaped like a urn and the 4th & 5th were also shaped like jugs.
