In reality, Kelptomaniac was not a thief, she was clumsy, people thought she was a thief, because due to her clumsiness, several things end up getting tangled in her algae by accident, such as people's and zombies' wallets. Ashamed of her clumsiness and her reputation, she hid in the depths of Lake Gumbo. The protagonists manage to find her and ask for her help to stop Zomboss. Luckily, she agrees to help them, not only because her home became muddy thanks to Zomboss's plan, but also because Dr. Zomboss was cutting his toenails in her yard. She goes to the site of the giant drill and manages to steal several parts of the machine, but Zomboss finds out, and the protagonists flee the place to the surface of the lake.
In the end, the Party Crabs and Security Gourds destroy the giant drill, and Zomboss and his army retreat. The lake returns to normal, and Kelptomaniac gains his confidence back and she's is even hailed as a hero by the other Tangle Kelp.
