Plants vs. Zombies: War and Peas
Plants vs. Zombies: War and Peas is the fifth graphic novel about the Plants vs. Zombies series that was published on October 10th, 2018, and is available to buy for $10.99 at Darkhorse.com.[1] It is a literacy-themed novel about Crazy Dave and Dr. Zomboss joining the same book club, and the troubles that arise when they fight for club leadership.
Plot
Dr. Zomboss has finished reading the 18th volume of his favorite book series, Toad Psychic, and decides to go to the library, Look Books. He has plenty of options to choose from, including Caffeinated Sherpa, Antarctic Lifeguard, Generic Sweater Husband, Rebellious Cheerleader, 1980s Joccer, or Cowboy with Stuffed Teddy. He chooses the Generic Sweater Husband disguise and goes to the library along with his pet zombie hedgehog, Mr. Stubbins. He finds his Toad Psychic series thanks to a boy worker, who he calls witless fool. He asks to join the book club because he could speak his opinion about the books he was reading. On Saturday, Dr. Zomboss goes to Mrs. Issacson’s house, the person who runs the book club to speak his opinion about the first book, Jack and Jill, explaining how they deserved their fall since it was “foolhardy” to do it themselves and they should have sent servants to do it for them. The next week, he came back to explain in the book that Dorothy should have claimed it the riches as they were for her. The third week, Dr. Zomboss comes dressing as a Zombie Antoinette, after Mrs. Issacon said to dress up as a favorite character. The scene shifts to Nate Timely, Patrice Blazing, and Crazy Dave, going to the bookstore so Crazy Dave can get a author signing.

- The novel's title is a reference to Leo Tolstoy's novel, War and Peace, which is fitting due to this novel's literacy theme.
- The title War and Peas was previously seen on a box in Crazy Dave's Twiddydinkies, and is also the name for the ZomBotany Mini-games in the code for Plants vs. Zombies. It also appears as the name of Chompzilla's Rare Strategy Deck.
