Plants vs. Zombies: Hybrid Edition is a mod of the original Plants vs. Zombies created by 潜艇伟伟迷 (SubmarineWeiWeiPVZ).

The mod primarily features plants that are hybrids of two or multiple plants, combining said plants' attributes and abilities in unique ways. The mod also features zombies that wear armor from other zombies, new armor types entirely, and zombies that similarly function as hybrids of one another.

On June 18th 2024, the official Plants vs. Zombies: Original Edition Bilibili page announced an official collaboration with the Plants vs. Zombies: Hybrid Edition mod. This collaboration introduced plants, zombies, and an area from the mod into the game.

Trivia

  • Plants vs. Zombies: Hybrid Edition is the first and so far only example of a mod receiving official recognition from the franchise.
  • Despite the Cupid Hypno-shroom Shooter (Cupid魅惑菇射手) appearing on the icon for Creative Mode, the plant itself doesn't make an appearance within the game.
    • In earlier versions of the game before Creative Mode entrance was open, Zombie Rubber Duck (小黄鸭僵尸) could also be seen on the icon, however the zombie itself also doesn't make an appearance within the game.
