Beginner's Guide: Survival: Night (Endless) builds

Fast 6 Cob

Fast 6 Cob

Fast 6 Cob is one of the easiest strategies in night endless for beginners. It uses the same Cob-4 tempo as the Classic 8-cob. You launch 2 cobs every 9 seconds. Because this build only has 6 Cob Cannons, you use a Doom-shroom as the 7th and 8th cob. The Imitater Doom-shroom is vulnerable, so you use an Ice-shroom to protect lt. 3 Gloom-shrooms, 1 Split Pea, and 1 Torchwood are enough to defend the Cob Cannon on column 1.

5 Cob Strategies

The Structure of Traditional Builds and Common Variants

Column-Gloom structure

Most structures in Night Endless are similar to Day Endless.

See: Survival: Day (Endless)/Strategies#Gloom-shroom

There is an additional Gloom strucutre. Because of the absence of Zomboni, the structures can be more versatile. The Column-Gloom structure has less pressure on row 3 but more on rows 2 and 4. It further optimizes the use of Cherry Bomb, but it's typically vulnerable to Football Zombies.

Modern builds for skilled players

Frost Cobless by 魂氵岦§艽々幽 and narpo

File:Frost Cobless
Frost Cobless

This is one of the easiest cobless strategy in Survival: Night (Endless). This build has a relatively low DPS, so it is easy to control the tempo. One way is to use the Card 2 tempo. For each wave, you either use Ice-shroom + Doom-shroom or Ice-shroom + Cherry Bomb. Put an Ice-shroom just before a new wave of zombies spawn, and the zombies will be immediately frozen when the Ice-shroom activates, procrastinating the time that zombies can threaten your plants. This is called Ice Tempo. Then time the instants precisely so each wave lasts for 25 seconds (23 seconds after the zombies spawn).

When the Ice-shrooms and instants are timed precisely, you need 1 instant for rows 1 and 5 and 2 for rows 2, 3, and 4 to kill Giga-gargangtuars. When you plant an additional Fume-shroom at the front, rows 1 and 5 can sometimes kill gigas without using instants, but it is not very stable. When gigas are present, the tempo is slowed down, so Football Zombies cannot damage the Gloom-shrooms in Column 6. When there are no gigas, you can put Pumpkins on the Gloom-shrooms. Jack-in-the-Box Zombies have a very small chance to take out the Gloom-shrooms, and you can bring the Gloom-shroom seed packet just in case.

Group-Gloom Cobless

The Group-Gloom Cobless is similar to the DE Double Ice-shroom Cobless, but it is a lot easier, since there are no Zombonis in NE. Compared to frost cobless, it has higher DPS and more tolerance to mistakes, but you will have fewer seed slots and more pressure from Digger Zombies. For every wave, use Doom-shroom | Imitater Ice-shroom | Cherry Bomb | Ice-shroom. Use a Squash on row 3 every time after using the Ice-shroom to alleviate pressure.

Gigas need 1 instant on rows 1 and 5, 1-2 on rows 2 and 4, and 3 on row 3. Rows 2, 3, 4 need multiple cannon fodders such as Puff-shrooms and Sun-shrooms to stop gigas. Ice-shrooms and Blovers can also act as cannon fodders, but never use Imitator Ice-shrooms! Football zombies can slightly damage the gloom-shrooms on rows 2 and, but you can replace them in easier flags.

God's Cobless by 雪漠北

God's Cobless

The God's Cobless is a more challenging variation from the Group-Gloom Cobless. You need multiple cannon fodders to protect the Gloom-shrooms on column 7. Its tempo is between the Group-Gloom Cobless and Frost Cobless. For each wave, use Ice-shroom + Cherry Bomb | Imitater Ice-shroom | Doom-shroom.

IQ 5 cob
Alternative IQ 5 cob

"IQ" 5 cob by 巷名

The "IQ" 5 cob is a very special build. It can kill zombies with only 5 Cob Cannons and 3 temporary Gloom-shrooms. It uses the Night 5 tempo, using Ice-shrooms and instants to kill zombies while giving the Cob Cannons enough time to recharge.

There is also an easier and more complete version of this build, but both use the same tempo.

Here is a video of the traditional build, and here is a video of the alternative build.

Instant-kill 7 cob

Instant-kill 7 cob by rwtiqz

This is another interesting strategy. It uses the Single-ice 3 tempo. The Cob Cannons on row 3 are vulnerable against Imps, but for each wave, this build either does not harm Gargangtuars on row 3 (aiming at rows 1 and 5) or instantly kills them by 4 instants. You also need Spikeweeds on row 3 to kill Catapult Zombies, since there are no Unbrella Leaves to protect the Cob Cannon on baseline. It uses four Gloom-shrooms to kill Digger Zombies.

10 cob with Doom-shroom by 风花镜月

10 cob with Doom-shroom

The 10 cob with Doom-shroom strategy is very similar to the Fast 6 Cob strategy above. With Doom-shrooms, it is equivalent to 12 cob. This build requires pre-timing of Cob Cannons, so it can kill Digger Zombies when they are underground and Dancing Zombies before they summon Backup Dancers. Gigas that are fast may threaten the Cobs on column 6. This can be solved by putting a cannon fodder.

There is also an alternative setup that replaces a Gloom-shroom with a Winter Melon on each side. With this, the build is more resistant to Gigas, but Imps that are not slowed down by Winter Melons may(?) cross the ladders and attack the Cob Cannons on the baseline.
