This is my first stab at compiling a "history of the wiki". Almost all of the rather important events before 2016 are missing, and the page is a hefty Work in Progress. Anything beyond approximately August 12th, 2013 is likely missing.
2009
- May 12th - Wiki created by Wckd, who abandoned it very quickly before even making one edit.
- May 19th - Vectorgreg made the first edit, and posts the first known picture, PeashooterBox.png.
- June 2nd - Vectorgreg made his last known edit, speaking on his talk page about possibly adopting the wiki, mentioning he has requested it.
- November 3rd - Swampert rox joined the Wiki, first making an edit on the page Magic Taco.
- November? (unknown day) - Swampert rox goes on to adopt the wiki.
2011
- July 23rd - The first non-default thread for the Watercooler, the first iteration of forums, is created: Zen Garden reading our minds?
2012
- May 29th - Jackninja5DipperGravityFalls joined the wiki.
- August 12th - Someone456 joined the wiki.
- September 1st - PvZBeast234 joined the wiki.
- September 18th - Someone456 was promoted to chat moderator.
- September 20th - MeVsZombiesMeWin demoted Someone, under the excuse that he was "not responsible enough".
- October 4th - Someone456 declares this date as the start of the wiki's "dark age", as seen here.
- October 7th - After failing to be repromoted due to reasons from MVZMW and Hoanganhminh, Someone456 vows he would never run for administrator ever.
- October 16th - A debacle shows up regarding the capitalization of Giga-gargantuar, started by Someone456. It was dubbed the "G-to-g war". Someone would later consider this to be the start of his worst time on the wiki.
- October 19th - After 2 warnings, Someone456 is blocked for a week. The G-to-g war was declared "ended", after Jack blocks Someone456 again.
- October 20th - MidnightHawk unblocks Someone456 for unknown reasons.
- November 12th - Someone456 states the G-to-g war should not be classified as over to Jack.
- November 14th - Someone456 makes one last vote regarding the G-to-g war.
- November 16th - Swampert rox returns.
- November 20th - The vote Someone456 made ultimately failed, with a 17 supports to 18 opposes total.
- November 25th - Someone456 was abruptly promoted to a rollback. This is also stated to be the start of another dark age.
- November 26th - Milesprower2 joined the wiki, while Minh attempted to get Someone456 demoted once again, under the excuse of the wiki having "too much staff."
- November 27th - After alts are created to demote Someone456, Swampert rox created the basic voting requirements we understand today, with the 25 mainspace edits being required. Hoanganhminh and MVZMW were under fire for abusing powers. Wintermelon43 joined the wiki.
- November 30th - Someone456 was formally promoted to Rollback.
- December 2nd - Another massive edit war occurred, with a "Left-Facing Repeater" page. A vote is made. It is referred to as the "LFR war" for short.
- December 3rd - Someone456 was promoted to Chat Moderator.
- December 6th - The vote ends, and LFR is merged with Repeater.
- December 7th - In spite of the vote ending, attempts to make the dedicated LFR page continue.
- December 11th - The G-to-g war is restarted again, by MidnightHawk.
- December 12th - Minh promotes Punjipoyjeenponja without any input, and is quickly under fire from other members. Punji is demoted.
- December 14th - The G-to-g thread finishes, with support for the lowercase "g" prevailing for the first time.
- December 25th - Jack attempts to vote on promoting Someone456 to Patroller, seen here. After much confusion, it's decided to promote Someone to a regular Admin on January 1st of the next year.
2013
- January 1st - Someone456 is promoted to administrator.
- January 2nd - Milesprower2 is given a warning by Minh for commenting on old blogs, under the reason of "fluff edits." Someone456 disputes this, and ultimately, removes the warning.
- January 4th - Someone456 restores the Requests for user rights page.
- February 5th - Someone456 runs for Bureaucrat. Minh and MVZMW are the only opposers.
- February 6th - Minh's flimsy reasoning is questioned here. MVZMW is put under fire when Theqmayn reveals he hated her unfairly simply for not liking every Mario game.
- February 7th - MVZMW promotes Someone456 to Bureaucrat.
- February 22th - Someone456 is locked out of editing due to technical glitches.
- February 25th - Someone456 is able to edit once again.
- February 26th - Ḡwẵine Ḹٍٍkƨ Ĺiĸe Ͼềлȑềd is promoted to admin, and adds various CSS tidbits. These include the first Wiki background with PvZ art, the wiki header and wiki toolbar having the grass background, and the custom cursor.
- March 1st - Having enough of his attitude, Milesprower2 votes to demote MVZMW here, which is shortly ditched in favor of another thread...
- March 2nd - MidnightHawk makes a different thread here. However, before it finishes, MVZMW demotes himself.
- March 29th - Teru-sama joins and quickly is under fire from Someone456, to the point of getting a 2-week block. Stating his edits were "purest", he ended up making a bunch of bad decisions, including the creation of a page for a non-existent "Giga Imp" and almost restarting the G-to-g war by changing the Giga-gargantuar capitalization once more.
- April 1st - Zergrinch, a PvZA beta tester, adds plenty of information about the game before it is even released.
- April 2nd - Zengrinch's edits are removed, since PvZA was not out at the time.
- April 27th - Some PvZA content is allowed again after a vote was made to re-add content so long as it was released as an official teaser.
- May 11th - The About Page is made.
- May 13th - Someone456 tells ProcastinatorMan and Starfruity to run for Rollback. Only PMan succeeds.
- May 16th - MVZMW is blocked for insulting Someone456.
- May 20th - PvZA is released to the public. Mass-editing ensues.
- July 2nd - A plant joined.
- July 3rd - Someone456 achieves 10,000 edits.
- July 10th - Starfruity is promoted to administrator.
- July 11th - After MVZMW insults Someone456 here, a discussion is made here.
- July 12th - Discussion to revoke the 25 edits rule is talked about here, though the idea to require 1 week of activity is brought up.
- July 13th - Tparry, a PvZ2 Beta Tester, adds pages regarding Ancient Egypt. They, too, are quickly removed.
- July 20th - Info on Pirate Seas surfaces.
- July 25th - Info on Wild West surfaces.
- July 31st - Ziad Wahba starts an edit war with Someone456 and Minh, by falsely claiming that Snow Pea under Plant Food creates an Ice Queen Pea.
- August 7th - The first "list of" page is created; List of achievements. This was followed by List of plants.
- August 8th - List of zombies is created.
- August 12th - Items page is created.
2014
- July 1st - The {{Support}} and {{Oppose}} templates are created.
- November 29th - Camwood777 makes his first edits, but quickly vanishes.
- Unknown period of time until February 5th - Camwood lurks, occasionally making comments, but is mostly hidden.
2015
- June 5th - The PvZA branch of the forums is shut down for good.
2016
- February 5th - Camwood spontaneously becomes active on the wiki.
- March 31st - Camwood becomes a Rollback.
- June 7th - Camwood becomes a Discussion Moderator.
- December 18th - Camwood becomes a Content Moderator.
2017
- May 19th - Camwood becomes an Administrator.
- June 17th - Jack removes the "wiki dictatorship is prohibited" rule without permission or a vote. A thread is created to re-add the rule.
