This page lists upcoming features for the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2. Please note that things change over time and some things that are listed now are subject to change and might become scrapped later. For these reasons, the concepts page serves as an archive of scrapped and unused features.

Dragon Bruit

Dragon Bruit (暴君火龙果; pinyin: Bào​jūn Huǒ​lóng​guǒ)[1] from the International version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 will be added to the game as part of an upcoming update. It is currently unknown how much of its abilities will be retained, as all that has been revealed is a silhouette teaser.

Its Level 5 ability appears to allow Dragon Bruit to spawn fire, ice, and electric variants of its Baby Bruits.

Gloom Vine

Gloom Vine (忧郁藤蔓; pinyin: Yōu​yù Téng​màn)[2] from the International version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 will be added to the game as part of an upcoming update. He retains his ability to power up Shadow plants planted within it while attacking zombies in a 3x3 area.

His Level 5 ability allows him to be powered up by Moonflower.

Electric Tailgrape

Electric Tailgrape (电击鹰爪花; pinyin: Diàn​jī Yīngzhǎohuā) Is an upcoming plant that will be added to the game as part of an upcoming update. It appears to lob balls of lightning at zombies before needing to recharge. Balls of lightning lobbed by Electric Tailgrape hover over the targeted zombie's tile and continuously damages the closest zombie in a 3x1 area.

Need for Speed collab

On June 15th the official Plants vs. Zombies 2 Bilibili account announced that the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 will be doing a collaboration with mobile racing game Need for Speed: Assemble. all that is known is that there will be unique themed zombies and a unique Elite zombie.

Glacial Nian Beast Zombie in Penny's Pursuit

Recently added textures suggest that Glacial Nian Beast Zombie will be able to be fought in Penny's Pursuit in an upcoming update. It seems that instead of three separate difficulties like the Zombot fights, there will only be one, what this entails is unknown for now.

Renaissance Age Zombot

A Zombot for Renaissance Age has been teased. Nothing is known about its appearance apart from teaser silhouettes. It is speculated to take inspiration from the Machina Magnifica in the Futurama episode The Duh-Vinci Code.

Q&A

Alongside the previous content revealed for the future, a Q&A[5] was also held for fans to ask other questions about the game's following updates. This Q&A confirmed the following:

  1. Another round of SFX and music restoration is planned, to bring the game's audio quality closer to that of the International version.
  2. Level 5 abilities for older plants are being considered, following up with this around the middle of the year.
  3. Frostbite Caves Resurgence's rework is still being worked on, but will still take a few updates to release.
  4. The Magic Beans Artifact is confirmed to be returning in some way, though exactly how is currently undetermined.
  5. Vine Plants will become available in more places than just Two-Player Mode.
  6. More server issues and bugs will be resolved over time, and the game's anti-cheat will be reinforced.
