Packs (Plants vs. Zombies Heroes)
Packs are the main source of cards in Plants vs. Zombies Heroes. They can be purchased mainly by spending gems, but can also occasionally be bought with real-world money. Coins were also used to buy Basic Packs before they were both removed from the game.

Regular Packs
Regular Packs will always be available for purchase, no matter what. These include basic pack types applicable for almost any hero.

Companion Packs
Companion Packs, sometimes called Hero Premium Packs, are packs that contain cards that go along with a Hero's classes. For example, a Wall-Knight Premium Pack would contain Solar and Guardian cards. They can be found in the "For You" section, or purchased directly from a premade Strategy Deck for a hero.
Hero Packs
Hero Packs are a special type of pack that are avaliable for Heroes the player hasn't unlocked yet. They can be found in the almanac, and each pack costs 750 gems and has a guarenteed hero, and specific cards that can be used with that hero.
Limited Edition Packs
Sometimes, card packs are only available for a limited time, usually for the sake of a holiday. These are called Limited Edition Packs, though they may also be referred to as Event Packs. Frequently, they contain Event cards, and cost real money, though some like the pack for Mayflower can be purchased for Gems. They can be found in the "For You" section.
