Plants vs. Zombies: Hybrid Version (植物大战僵尸杂交版; pinyin: Zhí​wù Dà​zhàn Jiāng​shī Zá​jiāo Bǎn) is a mod of the original Plants vs. Zombies created by 潜艇伟伟迷 (SubmarineWeiWeiPVZ) and his team.

The mod primarily features plants that are hybrids of two or multiple plants, combining said plants' attributes and abilities in unique ways. The mod also features zombies that wear armor from other zombies, new armor types entirely, and zombies that similarly function as hybrids of one another.

On June 18th 2024, the official Plants vs. Zombies: Original Edition Bilibili page announced an official collaboration with the Plants vs. Zombies: Hybrid Version mod.[1] This collaboration introduced plants, zombies, and areas from the mod into the game.

  • Plants vs. Zombies: Hybrid Version is the first ever example of a mod receiving official recognition from the franchise.
  • Plants vs. Zombies: Hybrid Version, alongside a popular Chinese fangame by the name of Plants vs. Zombies: Fusion Edition, were mistakenly labelled as official games of the Plants vs. Zombies franchise, in a questionnaire for the Chinese version of Plants vs. Zombies 3 that was published on September 2nd, 2024[2] before the first public beta of the game was even launched.
    • The questionnaire was edited and fixed a bit later, no longer deeming them as official games of the Plants vs. Zombies franchise.[3]
