Turning Point is a Turf Takeover map in Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. The map is similar to Pressure Pier in Town Center. In this map, the plants are on the offense and the zombies are on the defense. The plants must first capture a Bombagranate and then push it to a wall where it will blow up, allowing the plants access to the rocket launch site where they can steal its batteries. Meanwhile, the zombies must try and stop the plants from doing so.

Description

Ever wonder why lighthouses look like rockets, capable of launching brain-finding satellites into space? Us neither. But the zombies did, and they have found a new power source to make it happen. The plants have got to stop them!

Objectives

  • Bombagranate Objective
  • Payload Objective 1
  • Payload Objective 2
  • Lighthouse Rocket

Bombagranate Objective

The plants must capture the objective to release the payload that contains a Bombagranate inside.

Plants

Zombies will typically camp outside the ship near the plant spawn, so some plants should try to flank the zombies. The first objective is very open so you can be spotted from long distances away, so it is best to choose characters that can be stealthy like Night Cap or Chomper. There is a sniping perch to the right of the plant spawn that you can use to take out zombies that are on the objective.

Zombies

Engineer is able to camp around the ship near the plant spawn by using his bouncing bullets alongside the ammo boost from Heavy Helper to make plants pushing very difficult. Using the Stink Cloud or Bullhorn Swarm ability can allow you to prevent plants from going through the ship. Due to the objective being very open, it's best to pick a sniper like Captain Deadbeard or 80s Action Hero to take plants down that are trying to flank.

Payload Objective 1

Plants

Try to pick characters with high health to escort the payload due to the low amounts of cover you can use to protect yourself. Spawning AI companions like Heal Weed or Vase Weed are great for helping push the payload. Zombies will try to sit and shoot you from above while the payload is being pushed, so using a character like Peashooter and launching a Chili Bean Bomb to there can make the zombies back off and claim that territory as a spot you can use pea gatling at and shoot zombies from.

Zombies

Characters that excel at long range or with high damage are recommended for objective due to the low amounts of cover available, you can use the bridge to shoot from above though be careful as you can get flanked from your left and right. A lot of build-a-bot locations are around corners so picking bots that can be effective fast is recommended like the Loudmouth Bot which can temporarily stun plants trying to reach you.

Payload Objective 2

Plants

There is a lot of cover throughout the area, so try to position yourself behind the payload where you are mostly covered. Small plants like Acorn and Night Cap are great for pushing the payload due to them being harder to shoot and faster. There are many routes you can take to flank the zombies, high damage capacity characters like Chomper, Snapdragon, and Wildflower are great for countering camping zombies.

Zombies

There is lots of cover for the plants to use so try to pick strong characters you can use to push plants off the payload. Being a threat near the payload will make plants flee away from it, so characters like Space Station, Electric Slide, and Z-Mech are great choices. There is a tree near the perch in front of the zombie spawn that zombies can get onto and shoot from.

Lighthouse Rocket

Plants

You and your teammates will need to rush into the lighthouse to steal the batteries and flee back to the payload container. Do this 6 times and you will win the match, every battery collected adds 30 seconds to the timer. There is lots of cover at the beginning area of this objective, though you will be shot at with the space satellite from the lighthouse so always keep moving since it can damage you. Once you get to the second half of the objective, try to be as fast as possible since many zombies will usually be at the lighthouse defending the batteries. Once you get a battery, you will be unable to sprint or use abilities, but you can still jump. Jumping while moving is faster than walking normally, so try to do that. Having a Sunflower heal you while getting a battery or a Rose using Arcane Enigma to speed you up will also help in getting the batteries.

Zombies

Try your best to defend the batteries since once plants exit the second half of the objective, it will be extremely difficult to prevent them from getting the battery again. Try to pick characters that can deal damage fast to prevent them from gaining distance with the battery, like TV Head.

End Victory

Plant Victory

If the plants successfully steal the lighthouse rocket's batteries, then the rocket would initially launch into the sky, as scheduled, but it will spontaneously explode. It crashes down to the sea, preventing the zombies' plan to seek out the Humans' brains.

Zombie Victory

If the zombies managed to defend the lighthouse rocket's batteries, then the rocket will launch into the sky without trouble. It will then make a successful orbit around the planet, allowing it to track down and find brains.

Bug/Glitches

  • In Private Play, AI Plants will not pick up the batteries, instead standing in the battery area. This makes it harder for the plants to win, as one player has to pick up all the batteries themselves.

Trivia

  • The Bombagranate payload that the Plant team must escort heavily resembles Rotten Red.
  • In the Zombie Victory animation, most of the map can be seen when the rocket flies to space.
